Hello there, Jackie. My name is Sarah, and I will be reviewing your site today. I use Internet Explorer 7, resolution 1024 x 768.
LAYOUT & FIRST LOOK // Ah, this is not good. It seems your layout does not work properly in my version of IE. The bottom is quite messed up, and the background is brown surrounding the blue-sky image. I will provide a screenshot: here.
This is not a great start. Many visitors will leave the moment they see your site is not compatible with their browser/resolution, so you might want to get that checked out. Ignoring the surrounding areas, I see that your layout idea is quite creative. I haven't seen any other site out there with their content inside a flower, so kudos to you for that.
However, I don't believe you executed the whole design quite right. The fonts you use remind me of someone just starting out with web design, someone not very experienced in much graphic design. You want your site to look professional -- this doesn't do so. I would suggest taking a visit to http://dafont.com; there, you can download free, cool fonts to use on your graphics. Make sure they're readable, though.
Once again, the flower idea is original. But there are many things that need to be fixed. The clouds and stem being so fuzzy is distracting, and the center of the flower is much to large in proportion of the flower petals. Yes, I understand that you must fit your content in there, but...it stands out to me.
The flower petals aren't executed very well, either. The outlining is rigid and has many craters and cuts; I would recommend making them smooth, a more vectoring kind of look.
Over all, there's work to be done.
ABOUT // Once again, the header font you use comes to me as amature. You also have to scroll down a lot to find your "Webmistress" section. I would recommend separating them into different pages, or putting that before the site history. I want to the person making the site, before I learn about the site.
Your cat is very cute. c:
AFFILITES // Woah, that's a lot. I would suggest maybe organizing them into categories of what type of site they are, or maybe lining them up? Anything to make them neater.
{div align="justify"} blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah {/div}
LINK to US // That's fine. A little odd how the textarea to copy the linkback code spaces out sideways, rather than down...but that's not a problem, or anything.
REQUEST A GRAPHIC // That's fine.
GIFTS // Good idea to have thumbnails. One of the images -- From Jorja? -- doesn't load properly.
GUEST BOOK // Ooh, I would watch out for those. Odds are a lot of spam will get through...
GOODS // Ah, here we are; the goodies. Lets see...avatars and icons. Are those not the same things? Ah, no matter. They pop up as a new window...create, yet could be a bit of a pain to those of us who have ancient computers; new windows take a while to load.
Some avatars look nice, some not so much. I would re-do those which seem a bit older, make them look more professional? Some, like the fonts, look armature.
The title of your buttons page is 'Avatars'. Any particular reason?
TWITTER // The yellow link that reads the post time is quite unreadable. Change it to a darker color.
OVERALL //
Your website validates in CSS level 2.1, and in XHTML 1.0. Congrats!
All the links work fine, that I clicked. Which was a lot.
Overall, I quite believe your site needs some work. You have a lot of potential, but your website comes off as armature and a little silly. It does not come out right in IE7, and that is a definite no-no.
You have cute and creative ideas, just get a little off-track along the way. Try some new fonts from http://dafont.com, organize the pages better, and try learning some new techniques.
