Layout
The site is too simple. It has no designs at all just plain big texts. The banner is too large and overwhelming. Are you implying your readers to be blind or are you trying to make a statement? Even the "top of the page" button is large. Since the site is about web developing, how are the viewers going to be convinced by it? There are no images which makes it too plain and boring. Even the font is too boring. It looks like I'm viewing an old document. Is the blog wanting to be some formal and tranditional? Well, guess what? Web developing is a move towards the future. It should at least look modern, trendy and futuristic. The world has change and its time for you to adopt. You should learn to tease, tickle and enlighten your viewers. Everything is based on first impression and first impression is based on your layout. The button color is ugly. It's sky blue that turns to pale yellow when highlighted.
The Blog
The date overlaps with the bottom border of the blog post summary. Learn to use colors in your fonts. Make a style by using bullets, emoticons and more! But its great that it provides resources for users to utlize. The demo is very nice. There are downloaded resources and complete links. It is also interactive because there a comment box. Writer also replies and interacts with the viewers which is very good.
Porfolio
Why do you need to click before you can get a glimpse of the work? First impressions last. If I was not asked to review the site, I would have left already without even clicking it. It should captivate viewers and not make them work hard to see what you are selling. You should entice them more! The works are good within so it should be marketed as soon as possible!
