First Glance
Ooh. I really like this layout - the simplicity is gorgeous. I have to say though, the 'All that I am, all I'll be' did draw my eyes away from the site title on the header image. Next time, maybe make the background text half-transparent or something? =)Header
It's soft and warm. Makes the site look cozy -haha- and it fits the site perfectly!Sidebar
Maybe you should change the first header. Instead of the title being 'The Blog', maybe make it 'Intro' or something along those lines, since that part isn't the actual blog. Something I noticed :)
Everything else there is good, except for the credit at the bottom.
'Designed by Rima'. What is designed by Rima?
And also what the other people said about DevianArt.Main Column
It's too long - and no one likes to have to scroll that much.
Since each blog post of yours is quite long, maybe try only showing 1-2 posts on the index page at a time. The Articles:
Your articles are unique and interesting, but I spotted a few spelling mistakes in a few. (Hey, your only human XD)
Maybe try lengthening some of them? You have wonderful insights, and I would love it if you were a tad more in-depth with some :DNavigation:
A bit on the messy side...but I have no idea how else you could really navigate this site anyway -.-'Overall
It's extremely different then any other site I've seen. It's excellent all in all, and I sincerely hope you continue it. I'll definitely be checking back ;)Using Firefox on Mac | Report This?

Hi Kyra. (:
You were actually the first person to give my site a 5-star rating, and it really surprised me.
I'll use less brushes on my next layout, for sure. I didn't really think that the text brush was too big, but now it catched my attention, too. How wierd!I changed the first header's name. Thanks for pointing it out! :)
Overall design designed by Rima. o: Design = background and header for me. Layout would include the complete coding, which is only partly true. I know the dA... I'll keep looking for the artist, try to find him/her. >_<I plan to make two columns this weekend, to ease the scrolling. I hope it won't look awkard! I'll also change the number of posts at the main page.
About the articles... well, I'm not English or American myself, so I definitely make tons of mistakes. ;D And I hate myself for it, but I want to improve. I'll try to write more about things, where... my insights might be at least slightly interesting? ^^
Thank your for the review! I appreciate every word of it. (And the fact that you weren't harsh at all when pointing out my mistakes. I guess I'm too sensitive these days. But then, again, why did I join a reviewing community, I wonder? I fail, duh. >_

I'm aware from your responses that you are not too thrilled with what is considered a low rating, but at a brief glance the previous reviews are mostly from a design-point-of-view.
Personally, I think your layout is a good girly-girl reflection of the site's content - it is after all aimed for school girls. I'm not a designer so I'm afraid I'll skip that part.
First Impressions: What a wonderful unique idea! I note that you've put the site under 'Personal', and although one might argue that the site is not for your benefit but for others, I do agree that it is your opinion and your advice. You are giving personal experiences as to help others here, as you describe in your sidebar.
I really like the idea of this. I can see that it is just a blog after all, listing different pages and articles. Browsing around, I can see that it might be a tad difficult for a visitor to instantly see where they can view more pages. Your 'Labels' links is the main bulk of content and I think that could be more clearly linked perhaps? The idea of the site is brillantly portrayed, but the links to the articles are not so clear. I would suggest perhaps creating a navigation from which users can select which topic they would like to read your advice on? I know you already have this on the sidebar, but these links should be more prominant (I think) and it might be worth looking in to.
I love browsing this! As a school girl myself, I find it very appealing! You cover almost everything, with a lovely writing style. You seemto genuinely want to give help, and your pages prove that.
My suggestions would be to develop from BlogSpot. You may of course want to stay as a blogger, but I honestly feel that your target visitor would benefit from this site - they just don't know / haven't visited it yet! - if it spread its wings.
Final Comments: A short review, but I definately love this site! You've obviously worked hard here for a cute and neat blog. As others have suggested, it might be worth looking into a new look. Keep up the great content as your articles are a fun read, being informative, funny and personal. I would love to see the site develop to something much bigger, so that your helpful advice gets out to your target visitor!

Rima's Response:
First of all: THANK YOU. You really boosted my self-confidence, reading so many negative things about the blog definitely didn't cheer me up, so I was really in need of something... positive.
I plan to make two columns to improve the looks and help with browsing. Hopefully I'll get it done soon. o: I'll try to make a navigation like that, but I must stress that my coding abilities (and everything regarding this topic) are low-level. Will try my best, though. :)
When I created the blog, I was not sure if the idea was as good as I thought, so I decided to stick with BlogSpot for the time being. Purchasing a domain without having any content, and failing at coding was not something I could afford myself. But I'll see. :) My current goal is to reach 100 posts and start thinking about this then.
Thank your for your review!

--Style/Design--
First off, your header is absolutely bizarre to me. The weird blurring and colors are very strange. I don't like it. Your main header text (the website title) is a very overused font. Needs to be changed. The whole header needs to be changed in general. Your background is also kind of weird (like the header). I would recommend changing it to a geometric pattern or something different. The color scheme of your site is very..."elementary school" to me. Your fonts are so many different "girly" colors, and that may be your goal. However, I think you are only focusing toward the lower-aged girls in your blog's demographics: not the older ones. I am 20, and I would NOT go to your blog for advice on school because frankly, it looks like someone who is 12-14 made it. Your blog needs some "upgrading" and "updating" to fit a wider age range.
--Content--
You've got some good advice/articles in there, but they need written in a more mature, but casual, way. I don't like all the different colors per line. It's distracting. Your content is actually very original in idea, though, so I give you credit for that. I think your site is a little cluttered though. Too much on the sidebar, perhaps.
--Coding--
According to your sidebar, a person named !ferris did your coding. Thus, I am not going to critique your coding because you didn't do it. To be honest, I shouldn't be rating your site AT ALL because half of it isn't yours...
--Originality--
Your site's concept is cute, but I think it could have been executed a LOT better. Your content is a little "eh", with some weird opinions and no facts. As I mentioned above, you are isolating ONE demographic - not a range. Improve that and you will improve your site overall.
--Overall Thoughts--
I really can't give you a good score because the coding is not yours. Sorry. Try to make your website 100% your own, then come back with a new site and try again here for new reviews. Your blog is a good idea, but just needs better execution. Keep up your blog. Make it a bit more mature. Get rid of all the purple. I think you will improve with time.

Rima's Response:
I appreciate your honesty, but I still don't think that I'm this low-level. I do try my best with everything regarding the site, and even though I know that I can't please everyone, I didn't expect anyone to write basically only negative things about the blog.
About the coding: she did not do the whole coding. The CSS and the whole scheme was changed by me. I credited her, because that's where my inspiration came from. I had a hard time with the coding, because I'm definitely not good at it, and the whole site is about the content, not the looks. I still cared about it, and try to make it look something original.
About half of the site isn't mine at all? I don't really get this one, sorry.
I would also argue with the "no facts"-part. Did you simply read some lines from the first five posts, and decided to stick with this idea?
Anyway, thank you for your honesty, again. I will try to improve.

I dislike the background. It looks weird, and makes my eyes go wonky when I scroll. The rest of the colours look nice. The text is too tiny. You should credit the artists that you got the photos from, not just dA. There are zillions of pieces on dA, we want to see where it came from!
Your text also needs room to breathe. Please add more padding!
I liked scanning through your blog, it was all quite interesting and fun to flip through. I really don't have much to say, since this is a type of site I am unfamiliar with, I'm not exactly sure how to go about reviewing it. But, whatever it is that you're doing, so you seem to be doing it well.
Lol, I just read Diana's review, and we pretty much say the same thing. XD

Rima's Response:
I know that I should credit the owner of the images, but even after surfing through quite many sites, and asking the creators of blends/icons/etc, who used these, too, I still didn't find the person. I made the header about 1 or 2 years ago, and I do feel ashamed of myself, that I can't credit the photographer... I'm still searching for his/her profile on dA.
I'll make the text bigger, too. :) And I will add a different background with the next layout, as well.
Thank you for the review. I'll try to make the site look better. >_

on 18th Nov 2008 and said:Hello! Nice concept you have here. On to the review now, yes?
I like the header. It has nice colors and is rounded ^^ I just wish there weren't so much distracting tiny text. And for the credit, you should link to the photographer's profile on DeviantArt, not just deviantart.com, yknow? The background doesn't really match the purple/lavender that you are using for your italic text.
The text is too small x_O and it needs more space between lines, line-height in CSS. I think there should be more space between entries, because it goes from the Notes to the next title really quick.
I see in your CSS that you have 5px padding. It should be at least 10px. Give your text some room!
Awesome, monthly features. This seems more like an ezine than a personal blog? I don't know. You only have one article per feature, except Top 5 Websites, but you're off to a good start! I like your writing.
All-in-all, I don't think this should be filed under Personal, but I really like the concept and content.

Rima's Response:
I wrote about the dA picture, already, so I'll skip this part, if you don't mind. I'll use less brushes when doing a header next time, for sure.
I also changed the text size, I hope/guess it's better now. Also added some space after the notes. I'll see what to do with the padding. I like it this way, but I'll give it a try.I started writing the blog only some months ago and the monthly features are kind of new, too, that's why there aren't many, yet. With time there will be more. (: And thank you!
I'm not sure about the category. It is personal in a way, after all. :
