a personal site.. with help with tutorials, graphics, more still to come.. just need tips on what to add.. i can't add tutorials on photoshop i only have a version 5, but use paint shop pro 9. but please give me some tips! im stuck :)

    Well, wow. you have improved so much since your very first sub-domain, and it looks more stylish, with the brown, (i think i must of looked at your site in the middle of a revamp, as everyone else seems to be seeing the blue layout)

    Well anyways, having your layout set out in center makes your site look much much better then it did when it was all squeshed to the left, as i have a big computer screen, so when it was all to the left, there was this blank space to the right, that wasn't being used.

    one of the problems i did see on your site, which i don't know whether your aware of, but you have spam on your cutenews, why not try changing to something else, like fanupdate or wordpress, that will minumise the amount of spam you get.

    Also, i know your in the middle of a layout chnage, but i just wondering thats why your links don't work, so im not able to check the rest of your website, apart from the homepage, but because i know you from your previous site, i just like to say i love the fact you make your own images and don't use celebs, and that you write your own poetry, not many sites have this on theres.

    Anyway overall, with a finished layout, i think your site has improved alot since you first starting :)
    keep it up.

    Hey thanks.. yeah.. i have bronchitis at the moment.. so im not able to do much... but.. im still trying to do as much as i can. Yeah i've been writing poetry since i was 12 (i lost a dear guy mate && got started as i couldn't express my feelings) i've got the spam for cutenews at the moment, still trying to learn how to figure out fanupdate.. lol

    Well I like the layout. The image is kinda low quality around the brush, you should optimize your JPEGS. If you use PSP, when you're saving go to options and then more the scrolly thing down to 1 and OK. Apart from that it's nice.
    The CSS isn't valid, 11 errors and a warning You can get the valid CSS here. Change that and your site will look good in most browsers.
    None of your pages are working. So because of that I'll have to give you a 1.5, because I really like the layout :)

    In future I suggest you make the layout on a seperate page (so testindex.php) so you can view it and perfect it before you put it up. This way your viewers will never get stuck in the mid-layout change scenario. I'm going to be super nice and give you three stars as I'm jugding by your homepage (not a good idea considering you don't even have a blog to comment on at the moment) but I have that instinct that this site has potential :)

    CONTENT
    Rename please. A lot of the stuff took WAY to long to load. The color schemes are all bunched together. Site layouts took too long to load. Pixels are pointless. Just delete the icons already! Downloads = DELETE!

    REQUESTS
    As others said: wait before adding this part.

    TUTORIALS
    Probably the best part of the site. You should add more of these. There is also a broken link in this section.

    OVERALL
    Overall your site was nothing special. You do have potential to do better. Also stay away from blue!

    Layout
    Wow. That's a whole lot of blue. I think the header image is quite pretty.
    Well done for staying away from celebrity images!
    It would be a great improvement if you centred your layout, rather than positioning it in the extreme left.
    OK, onto your sidebar. You've written 'Mon Affies'. In French when the noun's plural then you use 'Mes'. (But it seems a bit strange to have some words in French and some not -- for example, one of your navigation links is 'Le Site' but the rest are all plain English.)
    You've used a textarea to display code, but when I copy and paste the contents this is what happens:

    If that didn't display it says: "This image or video has been moved or deleted (Photobucket)" and you've put a 'blank' link at the end, so the image doesn't actually link to your site. So maybe correct that LOL.
    So anyway, onto navigation. It's cool how you've made the first letter a different colour. Nifty.
    And I'd suggest putting The Adverts after your navigation. You want your visitors to look around your site mainly, and not get distracted by a link to another site!

    I noticed a few spelling and grammar errors here and there, and they can be easily found and fixed.
    Nice colour schemes, and I see you're a talented pixeller (if that's a word.)
    Maybe display the 'At The Moment' pixels in their true size though, because it would be cool to see the pixels not magnified.
    The 'site layouts' are nice, but they are really header images.
    "No input file specified." This is the message on the Tutorials > Making Downloads page.
    There isn't that much to do. I think a Reads section would be good -- your own articles, opinions, whatever, if you're into that kind of thing. Often I like to read the website owner's point of view.

    I think your site has potential. Just keep working on it! :D

    Well, as the others said, it's too much blue. Even if you got a different background (grey, or something that goes nicely with blue) it would improve it dramatically.

    Your header image isn't the best quality it could be...it looks rather rather grainy and blurry.

    You should edit this. Here is a example of what you could do to it:

    Get rid of the date (you don't need it), use proper punctuation & spelling. Don't talk about things that are 'coming soon' here. It makes your site look incomplete :'(

    For your adverts, always Capitalize the first letter of their sites. It looks sloppy without that.
    And don't say 'APPLY?!' just a 'Apply' would be fine.

    Move your navigation up...it can be above your adverts ^_^

    As I said, a simple 'Apply' is just fine. Try to cut down on the pointless words. Yes, it may seem like it makes your site stand out, but it just clutters it :)

    -tsk- Use thumbnails. It doesn't take my computer long to load re-sized images, but I know it can lag considerably on others.

The text is awful, and doesn't go with the layout. Lets go to the pages now *braces self*

    Pages
    Owner: A fair amount of info here, i'll give you that, but what I've noticed is this annoyacne with the underline-ing css code. Take the double underline off! Or at least chnage its colour. It really does annoy me. And Oh my, you live near me? *Hides* Well, not to close, *thanks the lord*. I'm not reviewing you as a person here, it's the side, don't take it the wrong way (:

    Site: Why on earth have you put 'Le Site'. If you knew basic french, you'd know 'The Website' was 'Le Site Web', but you did get the masculine part right, one of the few things you got right. Right, I actually like this part of the website. It's nie and simple. You've combined the Affiliate and Advertising signup, like have, but mine is just one form for everything. You may think i'm just a stuck up teenager here, bragging about my site. I need something to review against, and whats better to compare it to than something made by the reviewer, because that is what I am capable of, therefore, I see what you are capable of (: That was just to clarify.

    Content: The only part of your content I really like, are the little iPod pixels. They're so cute, and Kawaii style. Nothing to really say here. The quality of most of you're things aren't great, but oh well.

    Requests: This is a rather nice part of the site, where people can tell you what THEY want, if only you'd treat this review as a Request. *Looks though boring text, blah blah blah* Right, PHP and CSS packs may take a few weeks? Dude, coding takes less time than graphics, unless it's like Jems (Jemjabella.co.uk) or Bianca (Rockable.de), who takes their time with the coding, and and are able to create some of the best quality graphics available of the web today. You're coding, isn't the best, and neither are you're graphics, so why would it take a few weeks, I'm sure it doesn't take Bianca or Jem a few weeks, pure laziness.

    Tutorials: Not many here, which is a shame, because these are okay tbh. They're informative, which is really good. Congrats. Maybe you should stick to tutorials, rather than graphics.

    Blog: Right, you're line, under the blog title, with the date and music etc is a bit cramped, maybe make the text smaller?

    Overall, this site is poor, you have a poor quality for a 19 year old. You're host is a rather snobby character aswell. Beleve me, I've known her a lot longer than you have, I used to host her. So Isee where the bad quality graphics come from now! Tatty bye!

    Blog and Sidebar

    I'm assuming that because of Cutenews screwing up on you, you had to redo your blog. Number one, it's better if it did screw up, because it's insecure. But you also need to overhaul that part of it. Oh, and those sidebars are tiny, holy crap. You need to cut a third (at least) of your blog div and add it to your sidebar. Oh, and your navigation is hidden. If you're gonna have a navigation in the sidebar, put that first. Show the thing up!

    On the flip side, your blog is too wide. It can stand to be cut down about a third. And you need more padding and more line height. And bigger text.

    The other pages

    Owner: *Screams* I remember when I used to color my italics, bolds and underlines in different colors! I was 17 at the time. On Xanga. You need to let go of that, especially since you're 19. No offense to the younger girls who submitted their site here, but your layout is reminiscent of one of those created by a younger girl. You're practically an adult. You need to put a little more here. Not only that, but break up that paragraph. I had to do a double take--I thought it was two paragraphs. It's just one very long paragraph.

    Remember what you were taught about paragraphs--they're roughly 5 sentences long each, and a new one should be used when another thought is introduced.

    Le Site: You don't need that "splash page". The "about" page should be the first anyone sees, not a page with just links.

    I don't think the affiliates have to be on this page. Move it out of there.

    I can't help but to giggle at your requirements to be affiliates with you. More on that later.

    Content: I hate it when people use that word to talk about visitor stuff. Visitor, goodies, anything but "content"! Your whole site in content!

    With that out the way, I'm curious to know why your thumbnails for your stock images (that I'm assuming you took yourself, or at least with permission) loads so slow. If you took them yourself, they're pretty, nothing special though.

    Some of your textures aren't bad either. Maybe about 5 of them out of the...39 you have.

    But your icon textures, I can only find one remotely usable, and that's if I'm in a really good mood to create a bad icon.

    You have a few usable schemes, but as a whole, they clash. You also need to separate them somehow.

    Your button bases...meh.

    Your layouts. Kill 'em all!!

    Your pixels are cute, probably the most bearable thing here.

    Meh. Your icons. Meh.

    The ATM pixels aren't good at all. Or at least the thumbnail isn't doing them any justice. You need a new one.

    The smilies are...no. Leave them be. Get rid of them.

    Requests: I think you need to work on your graphics before you can fill requests. People want high quality. You're not giving that. At least you're not charging.

    Tutorials: "Making brushes" is a broken link. But your tutorials are targeted to beginners. I'd suggest adding more for intermediate/advanced users. That is, once you improve on that department.

    Coding

    Your CSS isn't valid. X-index isn't going to do anything. It doesn't exist. Check that please. And ho-ly crap, 237 errors in XHTML. I'm thinking...maybe I should visit this site in IE and compare it...same thing. What about Firefox? Same thing. Safari for Windows: Same thing. So this was intentional! Study this website. This will show you how to validate your site and CSS.

    As it is, you have all depreciated (not used anymore) code here. <b>, <i> and <s> isn't used anymore. Replace that with <strong>, <em>, and <del>. Underlining regular text isn't recommended. Position: absolute;=bad. Margins are your friend.

    All In all...

    You need a complete overhaul of your site. I was shocked when I read your about me (which needs a lot of work) and it said you were 19. I would have sworn that this was a 10-year-old's site. You need to mature up your site. As in, get rid of this layout, and the others you offer. Better yet, drop the whole visitor section. It's better to offer no visitor goodies than to offer mediocre ones.

    I think you're capable of a good site. You just have to play around and learn your strengths and weaknesses. Good luck!

    --Originality--

    This is probably the 15th site I have seen on rev.iew.me alone like this. Why does everyone make sites that think they can be a go-to, end-all resource AND blog? I don't get it. Your site is not very original, in my opinion, at all. Needs a lot of content rewritten, and you need to add more of everything (especially blog entries). I'm not impressed at all.

    --Overall Thoughts--

    As I said previously, this site screams, "I'm 12 years old", or some age under that. I would have never guessed you are 19. You need to upgrade your site to use WordPress for safety, as well as changing the entire layout and color scheme to fit an older, more mature audience. Right now I would never think to stay at your site because it looks like it's focused at 10 year-olds. So yeah. It needs a LOT of work and improvement, so hopefully you can change just about everything at this site and come back for new reviews. Good luck!
