on 15th Dec 2008 and said:In my personal point of view, I think that Unveiled Entertainment is a very interesting website. The layout is okay, and the background fits well but could be better. I simply like the feel of the site itself, but a quick recommendation for the layout is to just try something other than an abstract image for the BG. Honestly, one other thing that I feel the need to point out is that a lot of it's images include some kind of highlight or glow effect to its text which is great but tends to get a little annoying at times. The coding (which I have really gotten into) is good [meaning not too basic and not extremely complex either]. A relatively new page that was added (Holiday Special) is very entertaining and riveting at the look and interactivity included. The use of Sunny Singh's (creator) arsenal of javascript is uniquely interesting. I'd have to say that this website has gone and experienced a lot. From the lightwindow to his very own PHP system, this site is definitely worth visiting. One last thing I've recently noticed is an error with the headers. On nearly every page, you can see a repeating version of the "Community" header and even a loading image in the user bar at the very bottom. To see it more into detail, go to the link at the bottom of this review for a perspective of what I am talking about. Lastly, I am very amazed at everything it has become-although some work is still needed. Keep up the good work, you've done a great job Sunny!

Thanks, your review was awesome and very helpful. Nice to see you're enjoying my code, haha.
There is a lot of work to be done now, and I didn't know I had that much to work on, but I will be changing up a lot and can't wait to optimize my site. I agree the glow is used constantly in my images, and I try using it less but I haven't caught myself this time. Yea, gotta stop that habit but I love using the glows though.
WTF are those errors? How the @$#k can that image repeat in the background like that? There is supposed to be a semi-transparent black image in the user bar, weird. Well thanks for pointing them out. Perhaps removing the community image will help, I'll think of something. Or perhaps it really is a mistake I've made.
Thanks TC, your words mean a lot.

This layout takes a while to load because of the overload of javascript. I wish your site title were a bit bigger all of the other things about it take away attention from it. It looks to me like you've got a lot going on here. The whole visitors and little banners make your layout a bit unprofessional. The chatbox could easily be a separate page it just causes the site to load slower for me. The little bar that follows you up and down the page is annoying but I'm glad I can get rid of it. The layout itself is alright nothing crazy a bit boring but not horrible. The footer is quite organized and the search bar is helpful. Try not to use times new roman as your body text use arial or something instead. To be taken seriously as an entertainment site I suggest buying a domain instead of using ".co.nr" or ".tk" if you aren't able to now it might help your popularity and allow you to use php includes instead of frames. An alright site you do have potential to make it a bit more professional, however.Using Firefox on Windows | Report This?
unveiled's Response:
Well thanks for actually saying some good stuff (unlike some other people *cough*).
Yea, I know a domain would make everything better, and I do have myunv.com but someone bought that for me for one year, I don't have access to the account, and rather not rely on others.
I realized trying to be cool and adding a fixed bar isn't exactly that great unless it's useful, so yea I'll keep it hided or remove it totally. Nothing's more annoying then stuff that follows you lol.
I'm not going for professionalism here, just a site people can enjoy and many have I guess I just need to focus on wider audiences. I will see about removing ads and adding more content.
On my new host, it actually allows DNS, so I can use co.cc and look kinda professional and not use frames (I hate them now, before I thought it was cool that I could link pages with co.nr). Anyways once my new host gets fixed, my site will be a lot better trust me. I have lots of big plans and already use php for includes and stuff like that so it's easier to update. I do have one question about that though, why doesn't it led me link to them fully? Is that a host problem?
I use Arial, I do not know why it does that. Maybe some css is in the way, who knows.
You saying my layout is boring is kinda a relief and evens out the fact that others say it's just in your face and all, but I'm actually planning to renew it now. Space out stuff, ect. So thanks for the info.
Thanks for saying that I have potential. If you didn't know, I'm only 15 and just do this in my spare time. Starting off with a site builder about a year and a half ago, I'm now doing xhtml/css stuff now and getting used to php and js now. I don't give a damn about validating though, just believe that everything should be coded "right."
Thanks for all review!

on 15th Dec 2008 and said:This is the first time that I've ever had so much difficulty loading up a website. I somehow doubt that this has something to do with your absent host as opposed to all of the images and applications you have going on this site.
The first page alone is enough to make me want to leave this website. At first glance, it seems as though the website's layout looks rather chaotic; a second glance affirms that idea. To be completely honest, I really can't offer any criticism without having to tear this layout apart. The only advice that I can offer is this: Tone down on the applications, flashing images, and links. Your aim is to keep the visitor wanting more! Overwhelming them with so many superfluous gadgets and functions isn't going to do anybody any favors.
One aspect about the layout that I will talk about, however, is the quality of your images. The banner that reads, "Welcome" for example is very rickety and "pixelized", especially its edges. You may want to work on that.

"Well, it loads up in 2 seconds for me... have you considered using a faster browser like Firefox? Anyways it can't be that slow, but the host does make a big difference. I will try compressing my images somehow and using css sprites more."I'm using Google Chrome, out of all the browsers currently on the web, this is the fastest for me. But if it means anything to you, I've taken another glance at your website in both Internet Explorer and Firefox, and the load time is even worse.
"I don't see anything chaotic about my layout, in fact this is the first time I got any bad comment like that everyone seems to like it."
There's a first time for everything.
"I don't have any "flashing images" unless you're referring to the "Featured Content" presenter. The fading effect is barely any flashing whatsoever...
I have at the most 2 or 3 widgets. Superfluous? I don't even know if that's a word and how are they ... eh forget it I might remove the radio though."
Apparently you misunderstood me when I said "flashing images". There are a plethora of superfluous images on your website that are either animated or have a nauseating "big, bold, and in face my face" sort of appearance.
Superfluous is in fact a word. It means abundant, excessive, unnecessary.
"The images are the best quality and I used the best font quality too, that's why they load so slow in the first place 'cause they're high quality."
Your images are most definitely NOT of the highest quality. If you really need me to point these images out, I'd be more than happy to.
"I really don't know where you got these things from, sorry if I'm being rude but were you in a bad mood today?"
The fact that you thought this negative review was because I was in a bad mood says quite a bit about your ego. You've obviously been blind-sighted by your website's members who have nothing negative to say about your website; I however, am not one of those people.
"Oh and um, all the hard work I've done is one star?"
Hard work does not a pleasing layout make. There's a certain amount of skill required as well.

Er, you were just too mean in this review so I won't even respond. I will say a few things though. Some things, yes, you were right. And I will work to improving and changing up my site to make it more user friendly.
I didn't know you were using Chrome, it's fast I agree but horrible in everything else. Plus it uses Safari's engine so it said you were a Safari user. Sorry!
THE IMAGES ARE GOOD QUALITY! CHECK YOUR GRAPHICS CARD!!!
I do admit they're in your face though, I will work on making them blend in more. And no, there's no way of improving the quality no matter how hard I will try. Your graphics reader is just messed up or something I dunno...I don't wanna be cocky, but I have skill. Perhaps I messed up on this one, and I do know that hard work is nothing without skill, but hey many can't pull this layout off. It's full css :D. Anyways yea I'm gonna try spacing stuff out and using black font and stuff.
Yea..I'm not going in order but here's last thing.
I am not blind, but these reviews did help. Yours was the least helpful and most rude, but I can't say it didn't help at all. Actually, others did the same thing you said but a lot nicer :D. Nothing has opened my eyes, just thought me some more stuff.

Layout
Your website took 5 seconds for me to load, which is a minus. I know Firefox is faster, but you can't convince every visitor to download Firefox and view your site. Maybe because you have a lot of things on your layout that it is taking time to load all of it. Your layout is in a mess, I must say. Everywhere I see ads, and I don't have the interest to check out everything when there are too much of ads around. Maybe you should space things up. But I like the professionality of the layout :D
Your navigation links (Music, Videos etc) don't even work except for the Videos. Everything's messed up.
Why is the color of the text blue? It would be better if it was black. The colors of the layout blinds me.. you have to improve on the layout.
Other pages
I can't comment on them since the links don't even work.
Overall
Your site is overall in mess. Complete mess. So I feel you need to work on a layout that isn't too tough for the visitors to read. Make sure your text font color is black. You have got so much of potential, so if you build up on that, you'll be on your way to success!!

I know the links don't work, don't you see my notice on my site and here?
My other layout and content/pages is available at myunv.co.nr/oldhome.htmlAnyways, you're right about the spacing I will try doing that. I think blue on white works very well and I can read it perfectly, but many people complain about that so I guess I'll make it black.
5 seconds is good considering my slow (free) host, and all the large images and javascripts and flash I have up running.
I know I can't make everyone use Firefox, so thank goodness it's popular. My site is 99% browser compatible so far so I'm not worried about that. Just making a point about Firefox being the best browser. Wow, I did just realize you're on the worst browser though, lol.
I guess i can loosen up on the ads, even though I only have two but many other promotional banners and stuff (sorry, I just like ads).
Thanks about the thing where I have potential, at least that means I'm not hopeless :) . I really don't wanna go bland with a black text color, but if it's for user convenience then yea sure why not.
I will try doing my best with my re-redesign, but it does hurt having said the layout is a complete mess since it took a lot of time and hard work to make. But hey, I can't ask for everything so thanks.

on 15th Dec 2008 and said:When I first open your page up, woah. It seems really cluttered to me. Maybe space things about a bit? I took a look at your old homepage and I personally like that layout more than your "beta" one.
On your beta homepage: You're playlist. I like that it's not only one genre of music. I went through, thinking that I'd only see rock, hip-hop, or rap, but then I notice that you have The Ting Tings after Nelly! I'm loving that it's not consistent to only one genre.
As most of the links on your beta page are not being found, I'll have to rate your content according to your last homepage. I love that your site is about entertainment and almost solely entertainment, like games and movies and music. Most amateur (excuse the word) sites are only about graphics and blogging now adays, so it's nice to see a site that's different. Also, the diversity of all your pages makes for almost (almost because I have to get off the computer at some point) endless fun.
The graphics on all the pages, I've noticed, are of excellent quality and are very eye-catching, or to me at least. Some are somewhat hard to read, though. Maybe just play about with the colors that you've made the words.
Overall, I think you're site is well made and has a lot of good content on it, but the beta page needs some work and most of your pages aren't coming up. Well done on making a nice site and keep up the good work

Oops! Almost left you out, xD.
Yea, I noticed tons of people telling me how cramped my new layout is. I will work out a kinda new one that gives you air to breathe.
Thanks for commenting on my playlist! I have fun updating it with different types of music. Hip-hop, rap, and pop are my faves so it's mostly filled with that, but I try including other music as well.
Wow thanks for all the great comments on my content, and great to know that it can keep you on until you have to get off, lol. I do have to make it a bit better though I think. My site hasn't exactly had the sole purpose of entertainment, but it just came out that way and now I'm making this whole new entertainment network I guess. So, yup.
Thanks for saying my graphics are good quality unlike "others" who for some reason say it's bad quality even though I use the highest. I will try making it better to read though, thanks for pointing that out.
Thanks for all the great comments, you made my day so I can actually do some homework in peace now. I'll make all improvements soon and I hope you continue to visit!
