    First impression is WOW! I love this layout :) the colours are amazing and the impact is huge, but after a while it starts to become annoying, but I like it. One thing I would change is how far down the navigation is on the page, I find it quite irratating when I have to scroll for navigation.

    Logan: Ehh.. there's something majorly wrong with this page. The image loads normally but then everything else is distorted and loads a long way down the page and out of alignment. I liked the way you wrote about your faith, it made me smile. I'm sorry to do this but you spelt siblings wrong in the 2nd paragraph, 2nd line. But I liked the way you described yourself and sorted it into paragraphs.

    You: Next to the avatars link you might want to add "re-doing" so that people don't click there only to find they've wasted 30 seconds of their lives by clickin on it. The brushes that are there are pretty cool but you need to add more. The textures are very cool, but once again more is needed :P

    Site: I like the little desciption and that you have an FAQ section. It's excellent that you've sorted out the credits into exactly what they helped you with.

    Overall it's a great site oozing with potential :) really amazing except for those few errors I mentioned. And you only have 5 errors in your coding.. super impressed 8]

    Aw thanks haha this review "made me smile" also.

    I'm not sure how long the layout will stay, but people seem to enjoy it for right now.

    The navigation will be moved tonight, I actually fixed it yesterday and forgot to move it lol.

    Ahh spell check, i'll be getting to know him well this weekend.
    Alot more content will be added this weekened and next week because i'm now on christmas break (YAY!) thanks for the fantastic review!

    UPDATED 19 Dec 08:
    Oh jeez.. thanks for telling me about the about me page!

    I swear you forget to close one div tag and the whole page crashes.

    Wow wasn't expecting a giant radio on the layout. I like it. The image is just a bit too big in my opinion though, I would suggest shrinking it down just a little, and then moving your content box right up under that top line that comes out from behind the radio. I'm guessing that the rest of your page background is meant to be teal? It cuts off very abruptly and the rest of the page is black. Your navigation is a fair ways down the page, I think I would move it up or even put it above the content, like above the line where you have that quote. Also watch out how much the text moves in the nav, the whole navigation moves kind of awkwardly when I hover over any link. I'd also suggest keeping your words all in one spot on the nav, either center them or push them to the right or left. When they jump around like they do it's a bit distracting. All you really need is for the background color to change and if anything add boldness to your text. Your inline images need some padding, right now the text runs right into the edge of them. The last thing I would suggest is upping the font size by one. Your layout is big enough that it would look fine larger.

    Moving on! Your about page is very full of info, but I see tons of capitalisation errors. It's important to not forget basic punctuation not only just to up the professionalism of your site but it also makes anything you type easier to read. It breaks up your sentences and the reader can pick out where what starts and ends easier.

    Not too much visitor content but I see that your one section is down for remodeling. The stuff you do have up is nice, yay for no celebs! I saw your affiliates page and I don't really agree with the "your site must have 200 unique hits a day". It's really a bit unfair. I have had my site up for 5 years and have yet to get over 100 pageviews in a day. Even a very popular fan site I used to run that had many frequent visitors never got over 200 pageviews a day.

    It's great to see that you are implementing all the suggestions people have made on your site from the reviews. Hmmm well overall I think your site is looking good, you have some things you need to work on and getting more content up but it's got some great potential.
    Keep up the nice work and keep improving!

    Thanks for the review!

    I will take your suggestion on the navigation info and i am really considering re-doing the layout a tad and putting the content block up near the quote, but we'll see. I never was big on capitlization haha but i'll work on it!

    Viewed in: Safari When i first came to your site, I was not wowed and heres why, I'm guessing you made the boombox but the pic quality is horrible b/c its a jpg. png's tend to perserve more quality. but on top of that.

    theres not much happening so the layout's workable i absolutely love your css. it's simple, the color scheme is wonderful and i cant praise it enough.Your blog is not too small your text is readable, nice. Your navigation's a bit weird. The text is toward the middle but the bars are positioned toward the right which makes it look uncentered.
    logan: very organized, very nice. nice pic ;D let's see your favorite music and movies next

    you: the disclaimer might be more appropriate underneath your header. it looks a bit weird. >avatars: no one cares if you're redoing it. delete the page till you've got stuff to put there

    >brushes>>text: everybody has fonts. these are useless. they're not very creative either. either spice em up or get rid of them.

    >brushes>>swirls:personally they're not my cup of tea but ive seen them around. Low quality. One thing to note, people like making brushes match with their layouts but that’s hard to do if they’re not black. Whenever possible, make your brushes black. It’s the easiest color to convert to other colors.
    Site: good, organized.

    Overall: your site is well organized and pleasing to the eye but lacks wow factor. I see youre making updates so :D good luck

    Thanks for the review! I actually meant to switch the boombox over to .png, thanks for reminding me of that.

    I'll be adding the "new" avatars tonight. I totally agree about the navigation and the disclaimer. I'm trying to figure out why the nav bars keep shifting to the right and not centering dead on.

    Once again, thank you!

    I hate to review your site when I am experiencing some major issues with your site, but someone needs to inform you of these issues in case you don't know. :)

    I am viewing your site with IE and a 1280x768 resolution. Your site is horribly scrambled up. Your blog post and sidebar are not positioned where they need to be. Everything is shifted over to the left, so your text is actually half on the teal-ish area and half on the brown/black area.

    Your text is very small. I think making it a little larger would make it easier to read. Not everyone can read extremely small print well.

    Something doesn't seem right with the bottom of your pages (your about page for example). I feel like there needs to be a footer there of some sort. Your text stops at the very bottom of the page and that seems awkward to me.

    Where did you get the images you used for the avatars you made? "All I ask is that you give credit where credit is due!"

    In the sidebar it says you are 16, and on your about page it says you are 17. Change both so they say the same age. It's confusing when people have different ages on different pages.

    I thought maybe your site just had a problem in IE, so I tried it in Firefox, and it's extremely messed up in FF too. I know you just changed your layout so you're probably working out a lot of kinks.

    I'd love to give you more than 1 star, but as your site is right now, I just can't. Once your site is straightend out, I'll take another look at it.

    Edit: Okay, so I see the problem with your layout (for me). I viewed your site at smaller resolutions. Anything above 1280 is what is messing your site up. When I veiwed it at 1280 and below, your site looked just fine. Therefore, I will give you more than 1 star. However, I don't make a point out of changing screen resolutions for every site I come upon that looks that messed up. I usually just leave the site. You might want to do some work to try to fix that up so that other people like me don't just leave your site.

    "you're probably working out a lot of kinks."

    That is correct haha I know the coding is awqward right now. Im taking people's suggestions one at time, i'm working on validating my coding, re-coding my layout, and i just put up a new (non-"celeb") layout. I will re-add the site when it is completely done! But the suggestions are helping, thank you! :)

    The font's too small. I can't really see it so I had to change my resolution a little bit. Why is the layout like a never-ending scroll? Your layout's nice but it has to go because of the copyrights. I'll spare you the lecture(: Overall, your site's really nicely put!

    First Impression

    It's not a bad layout. The pictures were well put together, although it would be much better if you used your own photos instead of using these celebrity (copyrighted) images as a crutch. But that's where it ends. How in the world is there a horizontal (practically) invisible scrollbar in the middle of the layout? Then there's the loads of blank space at the bottom. I have a feeling that you're using frames or Iframes (or both!). At least I don't have to dig through your site to find the navigation, but since it's image mapped, it would render your site useless if someone who doesn't browse with images on for whatever reason. The next layout you create should have it either in the sidebar or the top, and just as bold as you have it there.

    Blog and Sidebar

    You lack side padding in your sidebar and blog. Also, your text is miniscule. Your layout is bordering on weborexic in the sense that it isn't on the far left. You need more width all over.

    The other pages

    You: *nose twitches* I hate pages with only links. A terms of service can be put here to make it not look so empty. But in reality, the only thing that's worth keeping around are the textures, and even those aren't the best. Your icons feature copyrighted images. And your brushes are meh.

    Site: *nose twitches* More links with nothing more. You can put your FAQ's section in paragraph form and put it on this page. You don't have a lot of information on the other pages either. It can all be combined. The less a visitor has to click (uselessly), the better.

    Logan: Hey, your birthday's coming up! Happy early birthday!

    766 words about you. This is a very informative page about you, and it's not boring at all. Great job on this. I can kinda relate to the M.S.T thing, except we call it something different for my nationality, and instead of adding 15 minutes, add about 2 hours. Brownie points for those who I can relate to in some way. I'm not 100% sure of the list at the end; I think it can be converted into a paragraph as well.

    Coding

    Once again, a horizontal scrollbar (in Opera anyway) in the middle of your site. Strange. It's better to not change the color of your scrollbars anyway. They don't show for everyone anyway. Your site doesn't validate; there are 40 errors. You have no DOCTYPE, which makes it impossible for your site to validate anyway. You're missing <head>, <html>, and <body> tags. That is very important. Not as important as the DOCTYPE, but still important.

    All right, I was wrong--you're not using frames of any kind. However, you're using divs that scroll down 2000 pixels. That's not needed at all. You have a renegade </h1> tag at the end of the first div you used. Your coding needs a huge overhaul. I've gone through quite a bit so far, but more importantly you need to get the basics of using proper tags down first. Your first step should be at w3schools.com.

    All in all...

    You don't have a bad site. You are strong in graphics, but you need to create pieces with photos that aren't copyrighted. Your coding needs a lot of work; I think yours is one of the worst I've seen so far with it missing the most basic of all tags, <body>. You need to strip your site down and recode with larger blog and sidebar boxes.

    I give you props for the effort so far. I liked your about me page; it's one of the few about me pages that are not boring. Once again, happy early birthday. :) Good luck!

    I'm using Google Chrome on Windows; SR 1024 x 768.

    My first impression of your website isn't very positive. I see you've used actual photographs on your layouts. This is fine, as long as the picture are yours. I scrolled down and checked out the specifics of your layout and I see you've given credit to sweetandtalented.com for those images. Although I see you've given credit, did you obtain permission from the original photographers to use this image in your layout? If not, I suggest you check out this article, on copyright violation. Onward!

    This image you've used as a header isn't quite my taste (the concept is neat, but the grungy looking brushes aren't), I do have a few suggestions. There's a lot of space between the top of the page, and the header image and it seems to draw my eye upward rather than downward toward the content. I think its because the image is a bit large, and possibly, if you shrunk the size of it, you could fix this. Also, like Liz mentioned, your site name doesn't stand out very much; its smaller than the navigation.

    Now that I've scrolled down toward the content, I see that you haven't used line-height to the best of your ability. The text seems to blend right together. It doesn't help that there is a poor use of punctuation and capitalization. I'd just like to take a moment to mention that you have a lack of padding around your DIVs. Adding four or fix pixels more would probably still achieve the look you're going for and help you with organization.

    You're using FanUpdate, I see? I happene to like FanUpdate and I enjoyed using it as a simple blogging platform. But, FanUpdate doesn't do a great job of displaying RSS feeds. My only suggestion here, would be to use FeedBurner to display your blog feed.

    Before I look at the content of you blog, I'm going to run your CSS and HTML through a validation service. The validator states that you 15 errors. Some easily fixed. You have not declared a character encoding . Use a meta tag to declare an encoding on HTML documents: Also, you're forgetting to close a few of your tags properly.

    Also, taking a look at your source code, you have no basic page structure (<html>, <head>, <body>). It unecessary to declare styles in your DIV tags. You can do that via ids and classes.

    Your CSS has 43 errors; most of them are value errors. For example, you have to put a # before all hex codes, and you have to put a unit after your numbers. Without validating some of these errors, your website might not look right in common browsers. Check your website at browsershots.org. If you don't like what you see, run your CSS through a validator to check for specific errors. NOW the content!

    You - This section is pretty bare, featuring three links to icons, grungy brushes, and four textures. Been there, seen that. Where is the originality kid?!?

    Site - I feel like this section could go all on one page. You can use anchors to organize it, and provide inline links to the pages that are a bit lengthy (i.e. FAQs). Though, I don't see how you already have a FAQ page when you just opened yesterday. =P

    You - When reading this page, I feel the need to go blah blah blah. I know you're being informative, but there is such a thing as too much information. This page could be dramatically shortened (no one cares that you took 5 years of Spanish). You should not have to type, "well, i believe that 766 words is enough about me, if you haven't fallen asleep yet then congradulations! hopefully these next couple things won't bore you to tears either!". Lmfao @ payday (candy).

    If you feel the need to type a long bio, create a short bio for those of us that are too lazy to read your life story. And then, create a link to the longer page. Please! SPARE US!

    In conclusion, although I see the potential, you're website isn't anything special. I've seen it all before and it doesn't excite me too much. I would love it if you could add some original content and maybe throw some pisaz into your blog entries. Because, no matter how horrible the website looks, an interesting blog will keep people coming back. Well, not necessarily coming back, but they'll subscribe to your feed. If only you had FeedBurner, so people could do that. Tsk, tsk! =P

    Using Safari on Windows | Report This?

    arcaeic's Response:

    Thank you for the feed burner tip! I will be looking into this. Also I completely forgot to validate my coding (I had done it once before, but it was erased and I had to re-do it).

    Hello, I'm Liz and I'll be doing this review.
    Windows Vista, Firefox

    Layout and overall design
    The whole Polaroid thing is cute. I wish you could of worked a few more of the colors from the photos into your layout more. CARTEL?!! They are amazing! Unfortunately, unless you took these photos or have permission from the photographer that took them you can't use them it's illegal:( Your site name could be a bit bigger on there. My screen does look a bit empty looking! Everything is small.
    Ahh your font size is a bit small and so it your header size. Your sidebars are sooooooo tiny! They need to be atleast 200px in width and your content is a bit small it should be 450-500 px wide. Padding on the left and right of them both would also make them look a lot nicer. Your layout also scrolls allllll they way down in to the depths of who knows where? There is no needed "height" for your content it's simply how much text it takes up. I'll tell you how to fix that below. I dislike when you hover over and the cursor changes:( my site used to be like that...it's more of a "newbie"ish

    Coding
    First off nooo html tags in your css! "style type blabhlah" and the end tag must be gotten rid of!! To get rid of the whole scrolly whatever let's do this in your css!
    This container has both your content, sidebar and footer and keeps things organized.
    #container {margin: 10px auto 0 auto; width:800px;}

    Now let's do the same for your sidebar and content (this gets rid of the whole div id=fkldjflkjdklsjflj stuff in your actual page)

    Then put this on your page to organize it a bit more
    <div id=container>
    <div id=content>
    content goooess here
    </div>
    <div id=sidebar>
    sidebarstufff!
    </div>
    </div>

    Pages

    >Resources; The avatars use celebrity imagesD: A great alternative to this is stock photos from sites such as SXC.HU or Deviantart.com
    I love the swirl brushes set! Textures are nice as well.
    >Site; Nothing totally noteworthy here.
    >Logan; Nice about me(: a fellow Sagittarius? I've always wondered about the Mormon Faith as a Christian seems you live a pretty normal life to me. You like Cartel, and of course they're amazing so you probably have good taste in music! List some of your other favorite bands. Spanish for five years?! Interested in any other languages? French is amazing so far even though I'm only in French 1 at my high school.

    Overall?
    Nice site you're new so you have some content to add. Get rid of copyrighted image and fix up your coding a bit:D
