(Design)
Aesthetics
Ahh, this is soothing to the eyes. No nonsense (like blinding pinks and neon things, ugh) here, the blues and whites are friendly to the eyes. Simple yet effective :) I like the stars, they add interest to the layout (imagine it without stars. It'll look empty, for sure.).Sidebar
Clean and useful. Its purpose is there, just the normal things, search, rss, quilt, links, recent posts, twitter etc. I like the sub-navigation included when you navigate over to other pages. It's more, well, easier for the visitor to search for links rather than scouring into a messy about page looking for a "facts" page or a social networking website the owner joined :)Graphical ability
One word: awesome.(pages and content)
Blog
Your blog entries are interesting to look at :D Even your "Not Inspired" entry... well, is still interesting to look at :PAbout
Simple and clear to understand - for stalkers to dig into your personal information ;)Site
Heehee, I'm always a procrastinator when I come to these types of pages. You've taken the time to write about the history and frameworks of your website. :DGeeky
Yay! Hobbies, gaming, webdesign! Whoo! I love reading these types of articles and texts, they give me so much information. Yours included :D
Should pass times be pastimes? Or is it just my lack of knowledge? :SLinks
Yes, we love Wordpress :D Organized and ... well ... orderly list of links, even alphabeticalized so the reader can get to these links quickly :) Awesome.(miscellaneous)
Coding
Clean, with my favorite: tidiness. Everything is tabbed and well thought about. :DImprovements?
Just my personal preference: you can make the header image "cherry pip" link to your homepage, but you've already done it with a link (Home) on ul#menu. As I said, just a personal preference. No flaws - no bugs - it's all good.
Originality
No copied content anywhere - great :DI think your site is absolutely brilliant. It's tidy, well-organized and interesting. I'll be coming back as a frequent visitor - you've impressed me so much :)
(Sorry about the awkwardness of this review - I'm half asleep already as it's half past eleven.)

on 20th Feb 2009 and said:For a first impression, your site is good. Your layout is clean & simple, and I really love the font. However, i'm not so keen on the way the content area overlaps the header and footer, it's probably just a personal thing, but it isn't for me. I'm a very neat person and I think it looks a little untidy, though everything else is perfect.
I really like your about me page, it lets the reader really know the person behind the website, and that for me is a great plus - to know that it isn't some robot! I also quite like your subnavigation, it looks very professional. As for your random facts page, I think it's really good (i'm a sucker for bullet points!), and a blue themed wedding? Wow, that's really original!
As for your site page, it's also very informative. I think the way you got your site name is adorable, and I like that you have that connection there.
I really like your website resources page, as for beginners into webdesign, tips like this can be quite handy, especially if they don't know where to start.
I adore your pixels, they're very cute and it looks as if you spent a lot of time on them. I would like to see more, simply because they're really good and you're quite talented at pixelling.
I think your article on the internet is quite well written, and it looks as though you have spent a lot of time thinking about it.
On your games page, I must say, I love video games too (though as a personal thing I think the Wii is a tad silly!). I still stick with my old GameBoys and PS2s!
Your links page is really very neat and tidy, something which really makes me want to revisit a website.
Overall, I think your site is very well done. It looks professional and I think it keeps people wanting to come back. I get the impression you've put quality over quantity in terms of your site, and i'm glad that's the case as everything is really good. Great work!

I like your layout. It's simple and nice. I really like simple layouts. Your site is easy to navigate, which is a good thing for me and other visitors. :)
I think you should play around with the fonts here and there for your blog post title to make it more appealing because someone always like an appealing blog title font. Georgia is nice, you can use that. :)
Overall, I do not see anything wrong or needs improvement on your site. Might I suggest some content here and there? :)

I like the colours you've chosen for this layout, and the contrast of your title to your layout is great. It catches my eye and pops there (as it should). Although I will say I am not crazy about your navigation area and the colours used there. The font is kind of fuzzy for me and maybe if it had a little more weight it would appear cleaner/smoother.About
I like your about page, how you offer the basics at the top and then go into paragraphed details below. I like the random facts and your quick blurb about your wedding day. (I would love to see a photo of your blue-themed wedding i.e. cake, table settings, etc) However myself I would rather see the Contact page linked from the navigation or a sub-page of the Site. It just seems like the right place for that type of page in my opinion.Site
I like that you offer a site map to your visitors in the footer. Even though your site is straight forward it helps out the visitor in case they do get a little lost. I like your explanation of your domain's name, it's very cute. :) I really love your disclaimers page, it covers nearly everything!Stuff
haha one of my folders on my computer used to be called 'stuff', now it is known as 'things'. I like the resource recommendations page, you give the gist of the program/place/etc and then why it has been working for you. Your Fairy pixels are very cute. I always was horrible at pixels, and pixel animations... well animations for that matter.Links
Nothing much to say. Everything is in order really.Overall, a very good job. Just some minor things to think about, but otherwise *thumbs up*

on 29th Dec 2008 and said:Layout: The layout's pretty simple, but it really looks good. I prefer personal blogging sies to have just simple layouts. I also like the way the sidebar and body overlap the header, but I think it looks kinda odd with it overlapping the footer, too. I think it's better how you don't have too many different sections on your sidebar like I know some Wordpress sites do - it makes it look more professional and organised. Sticking to the same colours throughout is also a good aspect because it just gets too complicated otherwise.
Blog: Like rockcandy said, I do think you should extent your blogs a little, seeing as though it's a personal blogging site, although I think the content of your blogs is overall pretty good.
Content: On the web resources page, I think there's a bit too much writing about each resource. A viewer would get a little bored after a while because of too much reading. The sub-navigation is also a good idea, it allows the viewer to get around quicker and easier.
About me: You included quite a lot about yourself, but again, I think there's a little too much writing. Maybe you could keep it a little shorter, and add some pictures or something?
Site: Once again, you covered quite a few topics about your site, and I think the name's pretty original really. I'm also impressed by how you coded it all yourself, with no templates. On my first impression, the site looked kinda as if you'd used a freewebs template or something like that, but then I read onto the 'Site' section. Few webdesigners I know actually have the ability to do that.I like the site overall, those were just a few pointers to get it even better. (: I must admit I found it hard to find fault with it, but still.
Keep up the good work!Using MSIE on Windows | Report This?

I'm not a big fan of your layout, it looks like those template-type layouts you can find on Freewebs. It's nice though, and very neat/organized. The text is contrasted, and easy to read. Nice job.Content:
I like your 'stuff'. The articles are nice & interesting, especially the resource one. That's definitely a helpful one.Blog:
Since this is a blogging site, I think you should make your entries longer, detailed, and more interesting. You want to make your readers keep coming back, so there has to be something interesting about your entries that'll make them want to come back.About Me:
It's well written. I also think a few pictures could 'spice' it up a bit. Not necessarily pictures of yourself, but if you, say, have a cat or something, maybe you could take pictures of it & show it to people. I know some people have done that.Overall, your site is really nice. I don't have much to say about it, but it does have some potential. :)

on 28th Dec 2008 and said:You know I am a really big fan of your website and designs, but this one is something else! This is definitely my favourite design that has ever been up on your website, but it does remind me of an older layout you have had up. I can tell you have put a lot of work into this layout, and it really pays off.
The content and sidebar overlapping the header and footer is a wonderful idea. The drop shadow is really good, but I think you should maybe increase the length of the shadow. Also, try fading it out a little more as I feel the content and sidebar are a little cut off.
Your CSS always looks well thought out and presentable. However, sometimes I feel your CSS is a little to similar to the previous ones. I always like to see a website that trys different things in every re-design. Maybe try using a different font and size. But overall, this layout deserves a 5/5!
I am a really big fan of dynamic sidebars, so seeing that you are using them has made me happy. This makes a website a lot more organized and easy to browse through.
Reviewing a websites pages isn't my strong point, as my pages are useless. But, I'll give it a go. However I wont be reviewing your pages word for word.
ABOUT - this page is very informative and lets the reader know a lot about who you are. The sub-pages are also good. I see that you had a blue themed wedding, so I'm guessing you are a big fan of blue... from looking at your layout! :P All of the pages under your about section are in order, and I really like your gaming page.
SITE - eight years is a really long time, but it does show that you have been making websites for this length of time. I love the idea of why you have chosen your domain name, it is really thoughtful. I see many websites with a site map, but I find these kind of pointless. I suppose they're for lazy people who can't be bothered to click a link or two. :P The disclaimer page is also very good. At least if someone disobeys these rules then you have proof that the person is in the wrong. For some reason, I'm sure many people wont bother to read this page, though. Who follows rules?
STUFF - I love your article on whether the internet is the greatest invention or not. I must say that I agree with the whole article. It seems that you have thought this article out; it has been well written. The pixels are very cute, I can't wait to see more.
LINKS - like i've said many times before, you can't say much about a links page. All I can really say is that this page is very organized like the rest of your website.
Overall your website is a must visit. I know I have visited your website for quite a while now, and I wont stop anytime soon. The whole website is organized and well presented, which I don't see very often anymore. Well done!

on 27th Dec 2008 and said:That screenshot doesn't quite do justice to your site. ^^ Okay, well, I'll begin:
Design/Aesthetics:
I was quite impressed when the images finished loading (and don't worry, that was quite quick, about 2 seconds for me). The layout is assertively blue, clean-cut, bold, and friendly.
The illusion you've created of the content area overlapping the footer and header is lovely, and does quite a lot to add subtle visual interest and depth to the layout. To my mind it's a little abrupt, though, how the drop shadow gradually fades off around the content box. Personally, I think extending the drop shadow another inch would look better; the way it is right now, it looks as if your content box is bending at the top and bottom to create a drop shadow.
I don't think I've quite explained it right, but basically, a longer drop shadow would smooth the transition between the clear overlap to the white space, and it'd look a bit better. ^^
For the most part there's little to complain about. You've kept all the elements of your site simple and straightforward; I particularly like your section headings in your sidebar, which very clearly delineate the different sections, and your link icons.
An idea: it's slightly confusing to have the same icons for links to your recent posts and links to other blogs. Perhaps you can use slightly different icons—one can be coloured a faint blue on the inside, for instance. (I'm hesitant to suggest entirely different icons, because then it'll be too many different icons for one sidebar, and it might look cluttered.)
Another idea would be using the favicons for those sites as icons instead. I once came across a script that added favicons to outgoing links based on what that site's favicon was, but I think I've misplaced it—sorry.
I do think your search area looks a bit awkward, though. Personally, I think you should add a sidebar section just for the search, and have an
h2named 'Search'. As it is, the search bar looks like it's been shoved in at the last minute, and jammed into the only section that would have it.The RSS feed, as well, seems to have just been plopped there without much thought or logic. There's quite a few different places you could put your RSS feed—in the footer, at the top of the sidebar, to the top right of your content box, or even a smallish little icon next to the text 'Cherry Pip' in the header'.
One thing I would have preferred: putting the comments link ('6 Comments') to the right, rather than having the text left-aligned. tl;dr reason: it'll be more in the natural flow of how I read through your page.
Long reason: when I'm done reading one of your blog posts, my eye will naturally travel forward in the same reading motion I've been using, and continue looking towards the right. Having the comment link there would help with the visual flow. Right now, my eye snaps down two lines and observes the comments link and the dividers in between your posts as a single unit, and there's a microsecond (I'm exaggerating this next part just a bit) of visual confusion trying to figure out where exactly the '6 Comments' link is attached to—the top post or the bottom.
I love how you've integrated the stars in your design—to my mind, it turns a nice but slightly impersonal design into an engaging, more personable one. The small stars next to each post header are a fantastic way to carry the theme through (so it's more of a design element for your site as a whole than just for your header).
One thing I don't particularly like: the comment bubble icons, which seem slightly pixelated and deflated to me. Bubbles a little taller might be nice.
This isn't really design and aesthetics or content, but I love how you've cleverly put your 'Archives' link underneath your most recent posts. It's a great way to get people to explore further into your site, and it's a logical place for the link to be.
Oh yeah, and your navigation in the header—the blue colour of the current page seems a little too bright, compared to the rest of your layout. A slightly darker blue might work better.
Content:
This will be a fairly short section because your site's a personal blog and not a resources site (and anyways, judging by your latest post, it seems you're mostly looking for feedback on the new site design) but—
GUITAR HERO! I am so jealous. Okay, moving on…
Your 'About' page, on the whole, is fairly well-written. There are just a few errors and places where I had to reread the sentence to understand what you were saying:
> "I am quite liberal when it comes to politics and I am an Atheist." There's no need for 'atheist' to be capitalized (unlike 'Muslim' or 'Christian', which should be).
> "I am pro-choice…if in a bad mood, pro shooting morons in a rocket to outer space." I mentally stuttered over that sentence. "pro shooting morons in a rocket" morphed in my mind to "pro shooting", and I thought you had been talking about your favourite sport or something. Hyphens would help. "pro shooting-morons-in-a-rocket-to-outer-space", maybe? Or reword it to "and on the odd occasion, if in a bad mood, I support shooting morons in a rocket to outer space".
> "I am married to an awesome man named Sean since September 1st 2007." It would sound more grammatically correct as "I've been married to…since…"For the rest of the pages in the 'About' section, I would prefer if they also had links to your social networking profiles in the sidebar; also, the contact page, in my opinion, should be on the top of the list of subpages and linked from your about page. Having it sandwiched in between 'My Wedding' and 'Gaming' doesn't make that much sense.
Again, in your site section, your Web Projects section of the sidebar should be consistently displayed across all the subpages in that section; same for the 'Links' section with the 'Link Me' buttons.
Also, in the sidebar, the sub-navigation links are out of order; I expected to see 'Pixels' after 'The Internet: The Greatest Invention?' for consistency.
Wrapping Up:
It's a lovely little personal website. The layout charmed me from the start, and by the end of my review I'm still admiring how clean, fresh, and elegantly simple it is. Your blogs and pages are eminently readable. ^^
Excellent job on the redesign!
