Other than the cheesy name, what do you think of my site? I share it with my two best friends, so it's a three-way blog. It's only about two months old, so it's not yet perfect. However, I've tried as hard as I can!

Alright, what I really like are the colors, the site name is super cute and was actually one of my British friends site names till she shut down. Alright, the colors are strong and the top title is kind of futuristic, I like I the hover links on the menu on top, it’s so simple and just easy. You made the design adorable even though it doesn’t have anything that hits its adorable. The font is very nice and clear, even the paragraph fonts are nice, I wish you’d done some more on the bold text but it looks alright I guess. Your commenting form is superb, but I see a small alignment error on the text part, do you see it? Otherwise it all matches and fits so well, that textarea is the only strange out of place thing. Alright, the HOME link is the main as always. Next is the ABOUT. What impressed me here is that you talk about the site first and not about yourself. The about page should be in this common order that new sites don’t try at all, I’ve seen these newer sites just talk about themselves and add a few lines on the bottom about their site, very unsatisfying. But here: site info, owner info, staff info, and sometimes other site links. But you don’t have to have those extra bottom links; this is fine as it is. xD you guys have three owners? It’s also great that you have a little about yourself and then the READ MORE link which really gets into details, clever idea for sites that have more than one owner. The SITE page: it’s small and alright, and I disagree, with some extra work and love, muffins are more like sister of cupcakes. Ohhh I love the contact form so cute! But ahah, I hate it when people do this, just put your email down like it is, thefurryshrew@gmail.com please, don’t add other stuff like [notspam] [delete this] [at] [dot] [@] it’s just annoying, simply put. Wow, you guys are really nice, I’ve been trying to tell people to add more about their affils, and here you guys have already done it! You have the owner’s name, the site, links, a little description, but I need an image or something, and do these sites not have link back banners? If they do, you should be a super nice affiliate and add those on here as well, it might seem crowded but since you already have so much space, I don’t think it’ll be of any trouble. Again the links out, no banners, I guess that alright but on the affiliate’s page, that’s a bummer not having the banners. A cute image always helps attract viewers. Now I don’t see any link backs from triple muffin, maybe you guys just don’t use banners which is perfectly fine. Just disregard all that I said about the link backs then xD your site credits are so simple, very SIMPLE! I’ve never come across a site this simple, I think I like it. I think. Alright, thanks for reading my silly opinions on your site, I hope you enjoyed this!

You guys have a cute and simple site. When I first landed on your site, I was like "cute layout, and simple. I like. :)" But I did not know it was owned by three girls until I read the header.

The only thing that is confusing in your site is who is the person that is blogging. You guys should add a signature at the end of the post or put who actually typed it. Make it more visible so people can see who is actually typing.

Overall, I really like the layout and the color combination you chose. It matches well together.

    Keep up the good work!

Layout: I like your layout. It is simple, organized, and centered. Your choice of colors is nice as well. You have chosen a very nice font and font size.

    Content:
About - This page is very well done. It is organized and has links to pages where your visitors can read on instead of putting everything on one page.
Site History - This page nicely explains how your website came to be.
Credits - I like how you gave a special thanks to everyone on this page!

Conclusion: I really enjoyed your website even though it is small! It is very, very well organized! I love its look! Keep up all your great work!

Hey, I'm Alex, and I will be reviewing your three-way bog :D The name caught my eye, hehe.

    First Impression:
The name caught my eye, as I already said. I like how it is made to look like it is glowing in the blue. I think the simplicity of the layout actually makes it better. Though I think for the bold words, use your CSS to make them a different color, like blue or the pink of the navigation. It would make the colors tie better together.

    Home:
Interesting blog. It's different how you are all sharing one, though I think you make it work. Bolding who is writing in the beginning is good...why not take it a step further and make categories for each of you, so to find only one person's blog entries, you click on the category link.

I am very glad that all of you are literate and bring your personality to your writing. Definitely makes it more user friendly.

    About:
Wow, you all live in different countries? It's great that you can all stay friends through this. Great way to stay connected!

For the how we met page, it would be nice to read it from each of your points of view. Because in the end of Shrew's POV, it sounds to me like Haley and Bella never became friends. So with each of you telling the story in your own words, it would clear things up and make for interesting POVs.

For the Bella page, there is a spelling issue.
"She's been through everything I've been to" - change "to" to "through"

For the Shrew page, I have an ordering suggestion. Put the quick facts first, as they are just quick facts to look at if you don't have time to read everything.

For the Haley page, I don't really have suggestions, except maybe talk about your hobbies. I think it's a funny page with personality, though it kind of sounds like a conversation. So add more for the visitor. But not too much more, as in nothing for people to stalk you.

    Site:
For the main links page of this section, just a suggestion to alphabetize them. Makes it easier and more organized.

Haha, I like your site history! Never would have guessed that is how you thought of the name. ^^

Contact Us form is standard. I dunno, but I really like the coding for it xD

Affiliates page is standard as well. Though I like how wrote a little about your affiliates. How nice.

Link out page confused me at first. I thought "link out" meant that it was a page of buttons for people to link your site with. But it is links to other sites...Maybe it's just me, but I would clear up the title. And actually, having buttons for people to link you isn't a bad idea..hmm?

Credits page needs some work. It's definitely good that you credited your host, emoticons, and bullets, but what about your blogging program that you used, your paint program you used to make the layout, your text editor? Always credit everything you use! It's very important.

    Overall Impression:
Overall I think it is a great blog site. It's great that you stay connected, and there is a lot of character in the entries. Visitors will like that, though perhaps at least some visitor content would be nice too. But this is definitely a good start.

    Anything Else?
Just think about adding a little visitor content, like articles or something (as you all seem like good writers). Also, add some buttons (sizes 88x31 and 32x32 are best) so that people can link back to your site. Not sure if you are trying to get hits, but it is still a good thing to have.

Good luck with everything! I hope that this helps. ^^

I absolutely love the layout. Personally I prefer a very simplistic design, and the glowing neon blue header give me a strange desire for some muffins...

I also appreciate that your site loads very fast considering that on my archaic computer the only way I have to access the internet is through dial-up. There have been many sites I have to leave just because it almost crashed my computer because of one image.

    Style and Design
But to go further in depth on the style and design of this site, I think you all fully understand that not everyone is "dazzled" by blurred images and nondescript text. The header, while a neon blue type color, is very appealing and quickly allows the reader to know that they have reached the appropriate site. There have been many times that I click on a link on to be horrified to find that I have secretly been "redirected" to another location. And then I am further lost because they do not inform who/what they are in their header. (Note: I will admit to being a little hypocritical as my current header image doesn't have the site title; but you get the point.)

To continue the text and background contrast nicely without leaving an blinding/achy eye effect. Everything is nicely spaced out and easy to read. This is especially nice as over the last few years I have slowly ruined my eyesight since I thought I could read in the dark (Not a good idea.)

    Content
I found it very interesting that even though you all do not currently have any "visitor" content, I was very much entertained by the blog entries and the story of how you all meet. It's funny because one of my best friends and I did not like each other at first either, and fast forward to now you would never believe me.

It was also nice that each of you included a little information on yourselves and included how each of you all tie together. Personally I don't know if I could run a site with someone else, but you all do a good job of it.

The site page was nice, some information, but not stuff that really know one cares about. I really appreciate that you wrote a little something for each of your affiliates. That lets me know that these are people you actually "affiliate" with, and not just someone you plugged on your site. Very good on the site page.

    Coding
Well, not much here to say except that it is valid which is nice, and shows up nicely on my computer. (This review will say Firefox, but I also use IE and Opera.)

    Overview
Well in conclusion I completely enjoyed this site. I was surprised to find out that you all are only 14 years old; not to say that is really young or anything, but each of y'all show a more developed sign of maturity that most teens I know that are this age. The only advice that I could give is that when blogging, possibly put the authors name in the title so it is more distinctly known who wrote what. Other than that keep up the good work and I look forward to visiting Triple Muffin more often.

    UPDATED 13 Feb 09:
OH NO!, I wasn't talking about your site. I was just saying how I hate that some sites have blurry images and texts in their headers. Sorry for the confusion! :)

    shroom's Response:

Thank you so much for your review! I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "blurry text," because I think the closest I get to blurry is the site title. Would you mind re-explaining that for me please?

Haha, yes, I've learned myself that reading in the dark isn't a good idea. So now I'm stuck having to poke little contact lenses into my eyes every morning. :)

Thank you so much for your review! I'll definitely keep your suggestions in mind.

I love it. The header is so simplistic. It's just not possible to dislike it. The name is awesome too, muffins are delicious.

    Layout
As I've already stated, I am in love with this layout. I don't know how anyone could not love it. The colors are fabulous. Pink, blue, and black go great together. The text is a perfect size, not too big, not too small. The coding is valid in XHTML, but not in CSS. Most people don't think that there is a way to validate CSS, but there is. Check it out here. Oh, but it's good that you have an external style sheet. What's with the quotations around every name in the blog. I see that's Haley writing, and the rev.iew.me is obviously shrew's account, but ask her what's going on with that.

    Content
    About
I think it is amazingly cool that you all are best friends, but from different countries. I would never be able to keep close with anyone so far away. I like Bella's sense of sarcasm, she reminds me of, well, me. By the way, I'm extremely jealous of her name, all thanks to certain book called Twilight. I think Shrew is a pretty cool name, too. It reminds me of the Pokemon sandshrew. LOL. My brother is obsessed with Pokemon. From how you've described your brother, he sounds like mine. Annoying. Except for the fact that my brother isn't tall. Your favorite quotes are great, some of them are really funny. I am also in love with Edward Cullen. Fuzzy socks are awesome, too. I have pink fuzzy socks but like all the fuzz fell off. =( The show Futurama is hilarious, one of my favorites. I don't like vegetables either. On to Hayley, or as I'd rather say, HayHay. I'm hyperactive, too. =D Very good descriptive words, might I say. It is odd that she's never met Bella in person. I don't think I could have a friend who I've never met. Christmas lights are awesome, it's true, you can't not love them. Nickelback is awesome, they rock. Mmmm, chocolate. Oh I just remembered that there is a grammatical error, "your's" should be "yours". And there's nothing wrong with contractions.

    Site
LMAO! "Muffins are just ugly cupcakes". Yes cupcakes are prettier, but muffins taster better. Well, that's my opinion anyway. Nothing to review on the contact page. I think it's nice that you have a little description of each of your affiliates' sites, that just goes to show that you actually care about them, and you don't just use them for hits. It's good that you have a form for affiliation and not saying "send an email". Nothing really to review of the "links out" page. The thanks page should just be listed as credits. It's always good to have those.

    Conclusion
Your site is great, close to perfect in my opinion. Just follow these few suggestions that I have, and your site will even better.
    -validate your CSS
-get rid of the quotations around name *cough*Hayley!*cough*
    -change "your's" to "yours" *cough*Hayley again!*cough*
    -change "links out" to "credits"

Using Safari on Windows | Report This?

    shroom's Response:

Thanks so much for your reviews! Well, we kind of use the quotations and make up the names of the people we actually know. We just don't want to put up a friend's name, especially since they don't know and it could be recognizable. Just for safety, but I suppose we could stop doing that. We just do it since our parents are always giving us the lecture about "online safety" that all teens get. :)

Thanks for pointing out the grammar mistake! I've just fixed it. I'm surprised I haven't noticed it before, since I'm usually really picky about things like that and I tend to freak out when I see spelling errors. XD

Thanks for pointing out the CSS validation service! You're right, I had no idea about it. I'll definitely work on that in the next couple days.

Hmm, change the "links out" to "credits"? We have a separate credits page, and we use the links out page to list the sites we frequently visit. It's not really the sites we need to credit. Maybe I've understood you wrong? Thank you for your suggestions!

Two of my favorite colors and gray. They go well together. This one is just as simple as your last one, but this one has colors and it pops better. There's three of you running this site. One of these days, you should get together and make a mega-layout of sorts. You know, show off the personality of the three of you.

    Blog

Big text, lots of line height, and the padding is great. Yep, you passed that. Judging by the first entry that I'm reading, you write pretty well. May I suggest stepping out of the ordinary and blogging about something else other than your day-to-day things. It can be interesting to some, but after a while, it does get boring. Maybe once or twice a week, one of you can do a question of the week or something. Switch it up once in a while.

    The About Page
I laughed at the story of how you guys met. That was pretty sweet. I was under the impression that you all lived in the same area, but came from different places, but I was wrong. Friendships outside of your own country is great. Anyway, short and sweet description of the site, and short descriptions of you "muffins" with the option of reading more. Well-written stuff, although I found myself jumping around in Bella's bio. I read it as if the person is reading it to me, and I think of Bella's as very fast. I'd be careful of that. I enjoyed it all though.

    Site Page
For starters, I will like to say that I do hate link-only splash pages. However, when there is a description along with it, it's all gravy with me. Props for that.

I laughed my head off at this line:

    Muffins are just ugly cupcakes.

...But they're just as good as cupcakes. Anyway, there isn't much; just the typical website stuff that everyone has on theirs.

    More things you should do

-Add an archive page. Having a list of past posts would give visitors a feel of 1) how often each of you blog and 2) more to read, since you only have one entry on the main page. Even having it separated into three for the three of you would be a nice touch.

-I know that y'all post pretty lengthy stuff, so maybe posting 2 entries on the main page might make the page too long, but on the next layout you create, try to post 2 entries at least. Or even better, 3. If it means putting a "read more" link after a couple of paragraphs.

    Coding

    You passed validation. Congrats!

You have an extra <p> tag right before the closing <body> tag. It doesn't need to be there. Also, I would change <i> and <b> to <em> and <strong> respectively. The old tags work, but it's encouraged to use the alternative tags. :D

    All in all...

You just opened up a couple of months ago, so this is pretty much a stepping stone to y'all. It's a great start. You ladies write very well, and the site is entertaining. However, I would step out of the box of blogging about regular life once in a while. Teenage life isn't that interesting to some. Make sure that when you do step out of that comfort zone, you put some thought in it, so that it doesn't come off as just filler.

Your layout is okay, but nothing overly special. There's three of you so throwing in a thing or two about each other would be great. Take pictures of your one of your prized possessions, and make a layout out of it. It would be pretty interesting, and would look great if done right. We'll tell you if it didn't work. ;)

Great job so far, and good luck.

I loved reading all of your about me pages xD They were really funny. I also love reading your blogs, I'm actually reading through every one of them as this is my first time on your site, they're very interesting.

I've noticed you've gotten this impression before: too plain. I appreciate that the design is not overwhelming or ugly in any sense, but there's also not a lot there to be seen. I suppose I'll get into a bit more detail now.

    Layout:
Your entire layout only consists of one color, in different shades. This doesn't add a lot of interest.

Why don't you try using complimentary (opposite) colors on a detailed color wheel, or a pallette site like Colourlovers.com, or http://kuler.adobe.com?

I see another lack of interest in the actual design of the layout. Header, navigation, blog, footer, done. All vertical. I like navigation the top, it's a very modern approach to navigation. However, try to add some extra features on the side or in the footer to give the layout more shape. Or, you could do interesting things with the header, such as make it go all the way across the page.

I noticed you had a short 'About' paragraph on the front page. Could you make this element stand out more, rather than just another paragraph in the body text?

Most of these tutorials feature different elements you can add to a website layout:
    http://sixrevisions.com/web_design/40-useful-photoshop-web-layout-tutorials

    Content:
I like your writing style-- very fitting for a personal blog. The only thing I would suggest is adding more organization to blog posts and content pages. Try different header styles, and think of ways to organize it better.

Remember, website visitors don't read, they skim.

    Conclusion:
All-in-all, I gave you a three. I didn't find a lot wrong with your site, it's just that nothing about it particularly sticks out to me as great.

I would suggest a redesign of the layout, for sure, and perhaps a few more features. Even though your content is just blogging material, you can add a lot of extras by adding 'Recent comments', 'Recent Posts', a poll, etc.

    Layout

The layout is very calm and almost a bit too subtle. Two tone schemes are nice, don't get me wrong, I'm just not a big fan of them. I would suggest adding some more color to this one. It's pretty nice as it is layout wise. Maybe add some small graphics to the header text like around the sides. Or add an effect to the text. Your navigation is a bit on the small side. Even your header texts are larger than it. I would suggest making actual buttons for them since you only have four links up there. Use the same font as your header or something that would go well with it and just make it a bit bigger than the header texts you have. Maybe add a spiffy glow affect to it when you hover over the link.

I really don't have too much more to add about the layout. I think it needs some color or maybe some images. This will help draw people in to your site.

    Content

I would highly suggest that you post the blog on the main page of your site where people can see easily upon first clicking that you update your site often or not. Still keep that little introduction but put the blog after that and then make the rest of that info a totally separate page, maybe put it on an about the site page.

I read the latest blog entry and it's pretty good. I think I would suggest posting more than just one entry on that page and add in there a "More.." link so that it doesn't take up the whole page and people can see you blog there often etc. Kind of like how you did it on the about page.

Your about pages are pretty complete. Gives a fairly good impression of who you three are. I would suggest adding a bit to each section, likes, dislikes, hobbies, talents, opinions, and stuff like that.

The site section is pretty standard and set up nicely. I would, however, suggest going for anchor links versus the linking to new page for each section. Since your site doesn't have many graphics it doesn't hurt to have a longer page.

    Overall

It's a pretty nice blog, but honestly it doesn't really make me want to come back and check up on it again. I think you need work on making your site more colorful, both content and layout. Browse stock photos, maybe make some vectors. I don't know what you three are capable of but I'm sure one of you knows how to work a photo editing program.

Beings as this is a personal site and not just a blog I would suggest adding some visitor content. Maybe ask questions in your blog entries to get the visitors more involved with it. Add some articles to your site in a separate section.

I like the name of your site and the whole idea of sharing a blog between three people. It's spiffy.

First Impression: Very simplistic and plain. Between three gals, none of you have any graphic abilities to enhance. This is the longest splash page I have ever had to read. Just in case there might be argument, it IS a splash page. However, this was my first impression. I am hear to give suggestions. I originally reviewed this site in Firefox.

    Content:

Splash Page - Very long splash. Instead, you really should put the blog up, and put an about page that is broken into 3 sections; one for each girl. Your introduction rambles, though not boring...thankfully in a charming "I can forgive" manner. :)

About Us - There is not much information except general statistics. The information you put on your "splash" page should be within this page as a "How We Met". If it is pictures that are an issue...can you put graphics up to snazz up and identify each of you better.

Coding: Flawless coding. It passed validation. I only check other pages if anything is off key.

Design: Very simple in design by easy to navigate. The only issue I see is that perhaps you can also put a small text navigation in the footer or a javascript code for your visitors to either navigate to the top or be able to have a secondary means of navigating without scrolling so much.

As for the design, it is not so much chewing out, it is that I cannot believe with three gals running a site, not one of you has some extra graphic skill to give that extra oomph to your website. Some people relate visually to a website. Perhaps you can all agree on some type of design to do for your main image. You could keep the typography of your title and perhaps add three images of gals that convey you or your style.

Summary: I am not bored with the site and I do like the serene colors, but the title is the only thing that gives me anything that there are three different people running the website. I would recommend trying some images that convey that there are three people: the fancy parisian, the nerdy hindu, and the hyperactive city girl. I have to read about each of you and your blog to tell the difference between each of you.

You receive comments so you must want some traffic, right? Even some of the most simple sites I see have something that makes them stand out. With three people running the site, there should be some creativity. I do see that the site is fairly new, only a couple months old, so I hope to see this site develop. I think it is great that there are more than one running the site.

I know that the focus part is to connect three gals together, but if you are including visitors, think of that as a focal point. What is your target audience? If you three gals do things online or have favorite places online, perhaps share more links and such, evening places if you like certain shops or such. The opportunities are endless when developing a site, especially with three running it.

It's still simple, because that's our style, but I did make it more colorful and appealing like you suggested.

I'm actually the only one who does anything with graphics, HTML, and CSS. My friends just post the blogs and send me things if they want me to put them up on the site. :)

I can tell by skimming through a few of the entries that you enjoy having this blog. It's great. Your grammar is very good. I really felt like you guys were trying to tell a story of your days, not boring at all.
I loved that each one of you had a separate "About Me". I'm still a little iffy about seeing your names bolded on each entry to identify who is writing the entry.
I think it would be great to see like an archive of some sort. Clicking on previous page to get to another entry was starting to get on my nerves.
    Coding
I'm glad to say that both your XHTML and CSS were valid. =) The site looks the same in IE and Firefox.
    Overall
I really liked the colors and simplicity of your layout. I also liked that the blog was updated regularly. I think with adding an archive of some sort (like a list of entries for example) would be a great addition.
    Keep up the good work!
