In the beginning, when it says in big black letters on top of yellow DEAR PAPER DIARY (don't use yellow btw, it clashes with the red and black), I got confused. Why is the heading different there than on the other blog posts?
Your site is organized and clean, I like that. Nobody likes a messy site. Also, the name is very cute. :) I don't know what it means, but I like it.
Good luck with everything! I will definitely visit your site again sometime. :)

The "Recent" section was a bit odd for me since I'm not used to seeing something that could have been a sidebar in the middle of blog. But I liked the idea. Different is what I like to an extent.
You use a lot of fonts. I think maybe sticking to sans-serif fonts instead of having serif and san serifs. It just keeps a consistency and you have different. In the recent area the font for quotes is fine. But the name of the person, I'd say choose a simpler font, like Arial. And maybe the same color as the quote also because it screams for some kind of attention.
One last thing. I like how you have a white background for your blog, I think the white background should remain consistent throughout your site.

First Impressions:
Wow, this is really nice! I love this layout, and I think you did a really good job with keeping it simple and clean. My eyes automatically go to your header image, because it has nice contrast on the dark wood background. Also, your site loaded very fast for me and seems to be compatible in Firefox. Nice job!Layout:
I really love this layout. It's very original, which is hard to find these days in the world wide web. As I said before, automatically my eyes go to the large header you have. The different fonts make it fresh and fun, and the shoe is adorable. The dark wood background is great, and really goes well with the rest of the layout. The colours that you chose match well, and they are not too bright. Your headers and content areas have nice padding on them, which is also good, making the site look and feel organized. You have a very creative way of displaying your blog content, like the date, tags, comments, categories...etc. Your navigation is a bit small, however. Maybe change the font size to be a bit bigger? It would definitely make it more noticeable. I really love how you did the dates on your blogs, as well as the comment link. Good job! Your headers you have are also very noticeable, because of the bright yellow you have chosen as their background. Your font size is also big but not too big, making it easier to read. The calendar and search box that you have are also very cute and creative. Overall, a very good job.Content
About Again, the small box where the title for the page is adorable. But there's one problem on this page, why isn't the background for your content white like your blog? Consistency rocks. Nice, short little blurb about yourself. Creative, but how about some more? It says that I have to subscribe to your blog to find out more about you and your site. Huh. I'm not so big on the subscribing thing, but I would love to know more about you.
Contact Again, where's the white background? There's nothing really to review here, because it's just a simple contact form. The boxes are a tad large, though, and there's a big space between the header and the form.
Archive Wow, your site must be pretty new because you don't have too many archives right now. Interesting way of sorting your blogs, good job. Nothing else really to say here, though. Oh, I did notice that you don't have a title for this page, just when it was last updated.
Links Nothing really to say here, either. Just a simple links page. I do like that you've listed sites that you like, though, in different categories.
Bookshelf Oh, this is interesting. I like the way you've sorted these, and how you have the option of viewing the books with their covers or their titles. I did notice that this page is titled "Library" when the link for it is "Bookshelf". Again, consistency. Nothing else, really, to review here. Conclusion
Okay. So in your About page, you say that your site contains "the snapshots of her passions, travels, and musings. Part photo journal..." I didn't really see anything that you've done, except for maybe in your blogs. Maybe include a link in your navigation that shows your work? Otherwise, don't include that in your about blurb. I was looking forward to seeing what you do. On the positive side, your layout is amazing. I would have given your site five stars, if not for the small things like consistency problems and not showing your work. I really enjoyed reviewing your site! Good luck in the future!Using Firefox on Mac | Report This?

Thank you very much for the review. :)
I won't be adding any galleries or showcase, because the end all and be all of the site is still a blog - snapshots are just another way of saying 'a peek into my life.'

on 15th Feb 2009 and said:I really like the idea of how you set your layout out. The unique part is after the first post you have the calendar, quotes, flick, and search which is something I haven’ seen before. Also the yellow highlight is something nice and well fitting. Also another admiration is the fact that all your post has pictures, which takes away the dullness out of reading many blogs.
There is a decent amount of space in the footer, between the last post and the copyright area – wasted space. Again the footer somewhat has a different font which ruins its. Number of comment can be a lighter shade of grey as it’s hardly visible. The menu/links in the head could be bold to give emphasis on their value as they are lost among the background. Maybe the content could have a different background, like give it a box going from the Heading (yellow box) downwards. Also different font in the head has no justice but it’s just my view – others seem to like it.

Oh, I remember seeing this site somewhere. I think you may have joined Snark earlier this week. Anyway, while I love the concept of this layout, the mixture of different fonts is a bit off-putting. You have like 5 different fonts on this site (not including the main text). I like the font you used for "iquentially". Try it out. Did you draw the stiletto? That's hot.
Where did that yellow come from?! That just came out of nowhere, seriously. I'm thinking of that red used in the...wait, no, that might be hard to read with the black text. But yeah, that yellow throws it all off.
Your navigation is lost. It's small, and then it virtually blends into the background. Up the size of it or make the links lighter.
Blog
I touched on the yellow that's screaming at me. Let's touch on the font now. I'm thinking that it can be bumped up one more size. And you may need to up the line height a little bit more. But otherwise, everything is fine. I laughed at the caption of your latest entry.
Whoa. Why did your footer stuff jump in the midst of your blog entries? Unless it is intentional, I think you should check that out.
Footer
This is a really cute footer. And I love the idea of images rather than text for the recent posts. Like I said though, it's in the midst of your entries.
The other pages
About: You don't really need the date on there. I was expecting a bit more here. More about Cy. I'm curious to know about your love for fashion photography (it is, isn't it?). I would separate the two as well. However you'll like to do it, either through another page for your personal bio or some sort of divider on this site.
Links: That's a lot of links, and I love the way how it's set up, but the text is a bit small and has the same problem that the navigation has of blending in with the background.
Bookshelf: Book reviews? If I'm right, then I think it should be said somewhere on here what this page is about. It's a display of the books you've read, but with reviews in the mix.
Coding
Damn, doesn't validate. And so close too; you have 4 errors. The errors are being caused by the rating plugin. It has a piece of code that will never validate in XHTML. I'm not sure how to fix that, other than getting rid of it, and I know you don't want to do that.
I don't know why you're using <cite> around your navigation. Can it survive without it.
I was ready to scream bloody murder when I saw tables. But then I saw that it was your calendar and since that is data, carry on.
All in all...
I like your site. However, I'm worried.
You see, your site depends heavily on images, and this poses two problems.
-Your site may load slow on ancient internet connections (read: dial-up). I'm sure you know what happens when a site takes forever to load.
-Some browsers don't support images (few and far between, but they exist). If that's the case, your site may be close to impossible to navigate. For example, the navigation goes from dark gray on dark wood background to dark gray on black, which is worse. I would be very careful about that.
I love your pictures. And I read through a bit of your site and I saw that you have a great grasp of the English language, and you have a sense of humor. Two plusses in my book. This exudes creativity, and I love that too.
The biggest gripe is the hard to read navigation and the footer (or, if intentional, middle) bar being between entries. But, for a site that just started, you're doing fine. Great job so far and good luck!
