Originality
Your layout is really originial because of the colors and the way it's styled. Originality is one of the most important things in webdesign so this is really good :)Layout
This is one of the best layouts you've had so far. I really like the colorscheme. However, I think you should delete the 'freshcherry' or make it bigger or move it somewhere else in the layout. Like the others have said, you should center the layout or move the divs a little more to the right. The orange/pink from the menu's doesn't really fit with the layout pink.. + because it's both pinkish, makes it harder to find the menu. The menu is also a bit to small compared to the layout. I love how you've made the navigation btw! Your sidebar is a bit long and small, maybe you should delete some things from the left sidebar and move it to the right sidebar thingy you have.Coding
I've read you code your site in Freewebs, I have a question about that, Why would you do that?? Just code from scratch or use Dreamweaver :D
I still have no clue why you have 2 navigations. The orange/pink navigation seems a bit pointless now.
Sometimes when I hit back in the browser, it says: Are you sure you want to close this page? A weird error.
There are some mistakes in the coding but they already have been pointed out by the others so I won't say it again because then it gets annoying for you :P Just try to improve your coding skills as much as your graphic skills, because your graphics skills are at a very high stadium but your coding is a bit left behind...Content
I will only name the categories where I find mistakes/problems or the ones I really like. If I haven't named some categories, it means it's okay enough and I haven't found any mistakes :PGraphics:
The colorschemes are a bit confusing me first, because all the colorschemes have no background or border so it looks like all the colors of ALL the colorschemes belong together. Try to fix it to change the background color of the colorschemes or align them differently.
By quotes I guess you should make the background transparent so more people can use them. Now only people with a white background can use them.. They're really lovely however!
The animated icons are very nice, haven't seen much of that sort of icons, so make more please, I like them a lot! :D
The stocks load very slowly, I know this has been said before, so I will skip the 'resize your thumbnailes part' :) (same as the portfolio thumnailes)
I love the 'Hover' part, haven't seen such thing at other sites and I know they will be very useful for some webdesigners as they are very nice. However I guess you should put the code in a textarea instead of making it bold so it looks neater.
I love the icons, and I've read your blog so I know you've updated your icons with some old stuff you had, but some of the icons really have a poor quality. Maybe you should sharpen them a bit or change the adjustments so they look nicer. Or just delete the ones with the poor quality.Downloads:
You have a lot of web layouts, I really love to watch free layouts at websites, and your layouts are very nice! I only think people will use them more when they are already coded instead of ordering the layout they like.
Your brushes are AMAZING!! I only have one tip, maybe it's better if you put a download and image code under the package instead of making a new page for it. I'm just going to say this again, I LOVE THE BRUSHES haha.
I think you should put all the textures on one page instead of list them in categories. The same by icon textures. They're all very nice though, I really would use them for icons,blends or other graphics.
The cursors are really cute <3 Same as the emoticons, I would totally use them for my blog!Tutorials:
You have a lot of tutorials that are for beginners. If you google those tutorials, you'll find tons of them. Try to add more unique tutorials :) The 'making of' some brushes you have, like the people brushes are very useful! Haven't seen them before! I love the hover effects at your CSS tutorials, they're cool <3 I think the 'website tutorials' are a bit off. I guess everyone knows how to create a photobucket account and such.Website:
I think you don't really need a link to your 'Home' at this page.
The Ghislaine part is good, not to long and not to short. You tend to use a lot of CSS in this little part of text. Try to bold, underline, and stripe trough the most important parts, and not almost everything. 'Dutch' and 'The Netherlands' should be capitalized though haha but that's not a big mistake but I thought I should point it out if you don't like grammatical mistakes. I guess you should move the rules for application for affiliates to the sign up page for affiliates.Overall
Your website is AMAZING. You have a lot of content and when you view the content you'll see that you put a lot of effort into your graphics. I also suggest you to use Fanupdate or Wordpress since Cutenews brings a lot of Spam. + it can also be hacked easily. Your English is okay, but you often use the word 'maby'. It's not maby but maybe. :P I just saw it a lot on your website. If you are unsure about your spelling, you can check it by browsing to babelfish.yahoo.com Your designing skills are lovely, make more layout tutorials, cause your layouts are really nice :) I hope I wasn't to harsh on you, because I really like you and your website hehe :D xx HildeUsing MSIE on Windows | Report This?

While this layout is one of the better ones I've seen for a graphics website, there are a few things wrong.
-Your site name, in comparison to your layout header, is way too small. I missed the thing.
-Speaking of the header. There's too much empty space there. Now that space can be used for a bigger version of your site name. With more of those interesting floral designs.
-Speaking of said floral designs, they're beautiful, but still would look good a little lighter.
When I first saw this, I said that this would definitely look good as a 3-column layout. With that being said, the sidebars are way too small for the amount of space you have. I'm viewing this on a 1280x800 resolution, and I see a lot of space. I would suggest moving it all to the middle.
Blog and Sidebar(s)
You have two sidebars, which works for a layout like this. But you have three problems. You have way too much in one sidebar, and way too little in one. Then they're also very small, so it all looks cluttered.
Widen the sidebars. There is an unwritten rule that says they should be at least 200px wide. Even them out in terms of content. Since your affiliate list is neverending, it would be best to move it to the right. And I don't know what the very top of the left sidebar is supposed to be, but you have that stuff all over already. You don't need it duplicated.
Your right sidebar's boxes (which makes it inconsistent with the other sidebar) severely lacks padding. Hm...5px. Try that.
Now on to the blog. There is great padding on the sides from what I can see. I'll have to look into the CSS to see further. But everything else, not so much. Your entry titles, in comparision to your actual text, is small. I would up that up a couple of pixels (or rather, ems. This calculator actually converts pixel measurements into ems). Same thing with the main text. Also, the font is readable, but barely. Instead of using that shade of brown, why not darken it? You also need to up the size of that and you need more line height.
Also, Cutenews is very easy to work due to the fact that you don't need a database. But it's really bad. Bad, as in insecure. You host sites, so I'm assuming that you do have databases. If you do, use a blogging system that uses databases. It will be a pain to work with at first, but pain is security. Or is it security is pain? Whatever, just leave Cutenews alone.
And I don't know what language Februari is in (it's not Spanish, and since you said you speak Dutch, it may very well be that, but I'm not familiar), but keep in mind that not everyone speaks that language (or are language enthusiasts).
The other pages
Brushes: You do have a few gems here. I see that in the floral and curved brushes. Remember though, quality over quantity. It's good to have 5 gems than to have 20+ mediocre coal bits.
Huh?! Wait, how come brushes have their own button on the main navigation? Since you have several downloads, combine them all. Same thing with the graphics. In fact, that whole area should be called "downloads" or "goodies", or something along those lines.
As for the rest of your stuff, I love your smilies, and your layouts feature copyrighted images (all but one again). If you're going to offer layouts, you should offer completely original (without using celebrity images) layouts that are coded. Otherwise, it's kinda useless.
Some of your textures are good. But I've seen them all done before.
I don't get "outside textures". But I'm going to assume that these were created outside? I don't know. They're forgettable though.
Masks. Okay, you offer them, but what are they? Explain to the masses what they are and what you can do with them. I've been in the business for a while (lol, bad choice of words), but even I have no clue what one of those are used for.
Site: *nose twitch* When it comes to websites, I hate two things. I hate small text, and I hate splash pages with only links. That's what I consider the front page of this section. 95% of the time, there is enough information to put on the front page without having to link it to another.
First of all, your bio shouldn't be in this section. It should have its own section with a link to the main navigation. Speaking of said bio, there really isn't much about you here. Ghislaine, how about expanding more about you? I know that you're from the Netherlands and you're 16, and you love Mario Kart. But I want more Ghislaine personality. Why are you the way you are? How do you pronounce your name? (Seriously, I'm curious)
Also, your portfolio should be in a section by itself as well with proper thumbnails. Resizing the original piece makes them load very slow. Speaking of, this is one of those situations where you have a pretty good grasp of good graphic skills (some of those graphics are nice), but they're all (but one) with copyrighted images.
There's hardly any site info here. There's a bit in the little bit about you (that shouldn't be there either), but not much. I didn't get the "statics" page.
Tutorials: I hope that these are original tutorials, and not those where everyone and their great-great-great-great grandmother (twice removed) have on their site.
You really need proper thumbnails. Your images load very slow. As a whole, they're all right. But I was expecting something that not many people have on their site. I think the only one that I was like "hm, this is kinda different" was using the pen tool, because not a lot of people know how to work that tool. But everything else...meh.
Affliates: I saw this page before. It's in the site section. You should delete it from the site section.
Apply: I don't know what people will apply for, but it's a broken link anyway.
One more thing I noticed--you have no way of going back to your blog. A "home" button can replace that "apply" one.
Coding
You don't have a DOCTYPE. Read up on not only the importance of a doctype, but the importance of the proper doctype for your site. You also don't have a content language either.
I can tell you right now that you needlessly bloated your navigation. All right, so you have this.
<div style="border: 0px solid blue; position: absolute; top: 390px; left:0px; height: 2000px; overflow: hidden; width: 171px; background-color:#E2D1B7;">
</div><div style="border: 0px solid blue; position: absolute; top: 17px; left:35px; height: 20px; overflow: hidden; width: 45px;">
<a href="/downloads/brushes.php">brushes</a><br>
</div><div style="border: 0px solid blue; position: absolute; top: 17px; left:148px; height: 20px; overflow: hidden; width: 40px;">
<a href="/website/">site</a><br>
</div><div style="border: 0px solid blue; position: absolute; top: 17px; left:238px; height: 20px; overflow: hidden; width: 45px;">
<a href="/tutorials/">tutorials</a><br>
</div><div style="border: 0px solid blue; position: absolute; top: 17px; left:338px; height: 20px; overflow: hidden; width: 45px;">
<a href="/website/affiliates.php">affiliates</a><br>
</div><div style="border: 0px solid blue; position: absolute; top: 17px; left:452px; height: 20px; overflow: hidden; width: 45px;">
<a href="/website/apply.php">apply</a><br>
</div>I'm going to make it so easy for you.
<div class="navigation" ><ul>
<li> <a href="/downloads/brushes.php">brushes</a></li>
<li> <a href="/website/">site</a></li>
<li>
<a href="/tutorials/">tutorials</a></li>
<li>
<a href="/website/affiliates.php">affiliates</a></li>
<li> <a href="/website/apply.php">apply</a></li>
</ul>
</div>It gets better! Then you will use CSS to style it as you like it. Tutorialtastic has a great tutorial on how to do it. A lot more simple than how you've been doing it, right?
You can do that with your other links as well. That's basically what it is--a list. For example--
<A class=navi href="/downloads/brushes.php"><img src="http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/qq63/soghislaine/Bulletr01.gif" border=0 > Photoshop brushes</a>
<A class=navi href="/downloads/emoticons.php"><img src="http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/qq63/soghislaine/Bulletr01.gif" border=0 > Emoticons</a>
<A class=navi href="/downloads/layouts.php"><img src="http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/qq63/soghislaine/Bulletr01.gif" border=0 > Website layouts</a>
<A class=navi href="/downloads/textures.php"><img src="http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/qq63/soghislaine/Bulletr01.gif" border=0 > Textures</a>Can be changed to this:
<ul class="navi">
<li;><a href="/downloads/brushes.php">Photoshop brushes</a></li>
<li;><a href="/downloads/emoticons.php">Emoticons</a></li;>
<li;><a href="/downloads/layouts.php">Website layouts</a></li;>
<li;><a href="/downloads/textures.php">Textures</a></li;>
</ul;>And the CSS can be something like:
.navi ul li {
color: #000;
list-style-image:url('http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/qq63/soghislaine/Bulletr01.gif');
list-style-type:square;
}Don't use Iframes for your content. It's a lot easier to use divs and floats. Read up on that here and here.
All in all...
On the surface, the layout is good, with a few fixable issues. But behind that, you have seriously bloated code. If you check out the sites I gave you, it can help a lot.
You need to work more on your English, and on organizing your site better. Combine all of your visitor goodies in one section, separate your bio from your site info, and get a home button on the navigation. You need to come out with something original. You're capable of it; you have the graphic capabilities to do so.
You definitely have something here, but you need more work. Good job so far and good luck!

on 21st Feb 2009 and said:Site: Your page loads fast. I should combine the apply for affiliates with the affiliates page. I can't find a button to link your website or don't you have one? Make one then ; ) Why did you put ghislaine at the website part? I should make another page for your portfolio if I where you ; ) The portfolio page loads to slow! Make some smaller images and link those to your blends with the real size. ( also the same story with your stockphoto's ) I should make the website navigation at the top of your page instead of putting some parts of the navigation at the top again. I think the top links aren' t neccesairy now. ( apply doesn't work btw ) The bullet for every link in sidebar is really nice, the brown big letters also ( header ) ; ) View all is also good, but show use some more links above the ' view all '... You've got a lot more to show, I should say 8 links.. maby you don't need to use ' view more ' anymore ; ) It's nice that people can be hosted by freshcherry, but you don't have to write that 2 times on your homepage.
Tutorials : Very useful, they look very nice and there is a good explanation on every page. The website tutorials are also nice ; ) I should delete the text under the links of css & html and just do it like photoshop. Keep the links to the pages without some extra text under it. Oh, and delete the space between each links.
Graphics : You've got a lot of graphics on your site and It's very usefull! They are of a good quality ; ) I should make some border around some of the graphics, like the icons, animated icons, buttons, blank icons and the stocks. Just give them a border with a css code. You hover page looks weird because the text on it is too big, change it into a smaller size. They look amazing btw * I like the break and enter signs, but I should put a border around the images. The quotes are cool and they have really nice colors.
Downloads: You've got a lot of brushes and I like that part of the downloads the most! The emoticons are adorable! : ) If you want to order a layout it goes to contact with apply for affiliates rules. I should make an other page for order 'premades'. Just an own page for that. The textures are very pretty and well made ; )
Overall: I like the layout, the style is very good and the colors mach together. Misc is a better than celeb, I just like misc more! I like the color pink. I should center the layout if I were you and make the menu space bigger and less long. It's small right now and too long, move all the links and put in in your footer or just in the content. A big text at your header would be great, just write freshcherry.org on it. The brush on it is gorgeous and I like the sitename very much. There are some spelling mistakes, but I actually don't mind! Were is the home button on your main page ? You've got a good quality of graphics and just a lot of content ! It's a good graphic site ! And just make the sidebar smaller, so there is a good view were you can click at. One last thing " where is the copyright? That's very importent I think! Just place a link on your sidebar or footer, so we know you've made the layout and know how long the site exists

Layout: I think the header looks quite nice. I like the colour. :) The title of the site is not noticeable at all. I spend sometime searching for the site name on the layout. It's a bit too plain, the swirly patterns on the left are nice but the right looks quite empty. I would suggest filling up the right portion of the image with your site title (matching font) so that it blends with with the overall image.
I would also suggest "defining" the content area with another background colour. The right sidebar looks a bit off with the look, maybe use the same design as the sidebar on the left? It would look a lot nicer with the content area "defined" and with the right sidebar having the same design as the left one. :)
Navigation: I think that maybe you could use a list to show the links and add the rounded background separating rather than incorporating it on the header image. A background change on hover would be nice as well. :) I couldn't find the "home" link to go back to the index page as well. There's 2 navigation sections and that's a bit confusing as well. Maybe just reduce it to 1? Or the top one being the main navigation and use the left sidebar as a sub menu?
The links changes to a help cursor upon hover. I find that a normal cursor would be better. I usually associate help cursor with acronyms.
As what the rest have said, run the pages through a spell checker? ;) And maybe use lesser smilies on the updates. There's nearly 10 of them on a short entry.
The graphics are nice, I like the photoshop brushes. Good job on them. On the layouts page, the click here link is a 404. The order page leads to the contact page. I would suggest adding more information, eg. how to order, what information do send to you, how much is it (if there's any cost involved).

I love the layout. Graphics, colors, font, overall flow, everything. I don't think the header is too big, but my screen resolution is 1680x1050... I (too) would tighten the sidebar a bit and lose Website stats completely, as well as the numerous smileys from updates.Content:
Your brushes and free graphics are very pretty. Bullets and website pixels could be on the same page, unless you plan on adding so much more it would make the page too heavy. Photoshop tutorials are very basic, but probably useful to beginners. Can't say the same thing about HTML/CSS though. Here's an example:
<style>
H1 {
margin-bottom: 0px;
margin-top: 0px;
border-bottom:0px solid #000000;
border-LEFT:0px solid #000000;
border-right:0px solid #000000;
border-top:0px solid #000000;
font-size:12px;
font-family:arial;
color: #FFFFFF;
text-align:left;
padding:3px;
text-decoration: none;
font-weight:normal;
background-color: #000000;
}
</style>
What it should be:
<style type="text/css">
<!--
h1 {
margin:0px;
padding:3px;
background-color:#000;
color:#fff;
font:normal 12px arial, sans-serif
}
-->
</style>
Unstyled headings don't have left and right margins, borders or text-decoration and text is left-aligned by default.
In Portfolio, consider making "real" thumbnails. The page takes a long time to load when all blends are full-sized.

First impression, too much header space and too much space to the right. This kind of layout looks so much better when it's centered. I would highly suggest doing that.
The color scheme is ok, but the pink at the top kind of overwhelms the rest of the layout. It would look nicer if you actually added the title of your site to the header in some kind of fancy font that matches the swirly patterns you have in it. I would make your navigation at the top a bit more eye catching, but I see you have two navigations so that one at the top really serves no real purpose since you have it all laid out below. Try just going for the main sections in your nav, Downloads, Graphics, Tutorials, Website.
I would drop the header navigation and just stick to the sidebar, or vise versa. Also would highly suggest simplifying your side bar navigation. Take what navigation you have at the top there and put it into the sidebar. The shorter the navigation the less cluttered the layout looks and I personally find that more attractive and so do many others. Right now it's just far too long.
Avoid off site links in your navigation, even if they are marked as off site, you want people to stay on your site not lead them away from it. You should just make a links page and toss that into your navigation.
I would suggest switching from Cutenews to a secure script like word press or fan update. Cutenews has been known to have many security loopholes.
Taking a look at your coding and it's sloppy. You have all your style mixed in with the layout. I would suggest pulling all of that out and putting it into a css stylesheet. This will help your pages to load faster and clean up your code so it's easy to edit as well. Always remember to close your tags, you have a body and html tag but you do not close them at the end of your file.
I'd suggest checking out this site. She has some excellent tutorials and whatnot about css and validating your code.
ContentDownloads - Brushes are nice, and you have quite a few so nice job there, your emoticons are cute so nothing much to say there. Layouts, they are nice but too many celebrities. I would suggest branching off and making totally original layouts using stock photos or even your own photos or vector art.
Textures look ok but I don't like how you separate them all. You have enough links on your navigation. Try some anchor links for those if you really need separate links for them all.
Another thing, you have a view all, why aren't your sections all listed? You have all but cursors. You should either go all or none. Honestly, like I said before, you should just simplify your navigation.Graphics - Bullets look nice, your icons are ok, but again way too many celeb images. Overall though your graphics are very good and of a nice quality.
Tutorials - The ones for photoshop are ok, most of the effects are very simple so mainly beginner stuff. Not a bad thing but I've seen tutorials on similar if not the same effects on many other sites. Css and html, honestly you don't seem to know how to code validly so I don't think you would be putting up tutorials on how to code as you'll just teach others the same errors you yourself make, and the tutorials I do see here are uber simple and can be found anywhere.
And the website tutorial section, well you could put that on a links page under resources.Website - You don't need a home link on this page, it's kind of silly to have one, keep that to your main navigation. Your about section is ok, uber short, but since it's not a personal site it doesn't have to be very long. Adding just a little bit more about yourself wouldn't hurt though. Like likes, dislikes, beliefs maybe. Just to help the visitor to get to know you a little more.
Portfolio, thumbnails please! This will help your page load so much faster. It would also be a good idea to break each site layout or blend up put a little blip about each one under it or get a nice gallery script that let's you add a description.
The last thing I would mention is if you want to make a true portfolio, you will have to shy away from the celeb images. Most professional designers, if they take a look at your work, will not even give you a chance if all you have are copyrighted images in your graphics and designs. It's fine if you don't plan on taking it on for a career, but once you start to market yourself it becomes illegal to use them.On a side note, I'm not sure why I get an "Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page?" when I hit the back button.
The rest of your website section is pretty much standard and doesn't interest me all that much to be honest, but it's not bad either what you have.
Overall
I think I looked through everything...there's TONS of content here which was really awesome. This is something, that if I knew someone who needed some nice free graphics, I might direct them towards your site. You have done really well in creating a content rich site. Your layouts are the only weak part of the site. You need to simplify your navigations and cut down on the amount of links your visitors will have to click. Visitors are lazy and don't want to have click on a dozen different links to get to the content. I think once you fix up your coding and some of the layout issues your site will be most excellent. Keep up the good work!

Me: I was a little bit confused first. Where is it? I asked myself. Maybe instead of having it on the site page, make a new page: me. Ooo! I’m 1 month and 3 days older then you! Some spelling mistakes (I don’t usually point that out..) Whas is was. And there’s also some more, so read through it. I like your outfit, and you look gorgeous! :D Why do you have the portofolio page on Ghislaine?
Site: On the link freshcherry.org, why is the apply for affiliates rules there? Nice buttons thow. And why do you have two pages with affiliates and apply for affiliate? Decide where to put it and have it one place. The apply link on the top of the page doesn’t work.
Resources: A lot of brushes! That’s awesome! But it would be nice if you had a stamp or preview or something. It would be nice to see the whole brushes before downloading them. They look really good all of them! The emoticons are really cute! The website layouts looks awesome! Everything is!
Tutorials: Making a .. brush is something I’ve never seen! Great idea! I’m not looking very close on them, but they seem easy to understand and you have useful ones. Try to make something not many have done, like the one above.
Over-all: Your site looks beautiful, so all the graphics. You have some spelling mistakes that even I can point out XD But that’s alright since English isn’t your mother language. The navigation was a confusing to me, try to make it easier. Other then that, you have a great site!
