my personal blog, unfortunately for you - it's in czech. so sorry, but still - i would love to hear your ideas and i appreciate every review you leave.
you won't find graphics and stuff like that, because that's not why i have the site. it's just my personal space, where i can write my everyday shitty problem only 17 years old girl can have. ;)

and the advert is required by my host and i can't - unfortunately - do anything about it. :( i'm looking for different host, if you have any suggestions about that i would be very glad!

    The screen cap, is very beautiful. Simple, yes, but still beautiful. The colors and such look very nice!

    Onto the hosting suggestions...My host is Spencer from http://skylineillusions.net Though, there are many other places such as http://www.innocentsky.com/, http://wearthesun.net/, http://www.therentout.com , or http://donemyway.com/

    Those are only a few of thousands of free hosting sites...and although, for most places, you will need a domain purchased, which is pretty cheap depending on where you get that. I would not suggest getting it some place unknown, since I know people who have done that and have gotten played.

    Good luck with whatever you do! I sure hope that I will be able to give you a real review someday!

    fly susan fly. I don't think that this is name is so original. You're using 2 times "fly" why? I like that is easy to remember:D
    First Impression
    Your layout is small, too small in my opinion. I like the idea but you could make it bigger:d. About 600:D. I like the text bur the colors aren't so nice. That tons of gray, in my opinion sucks. Your navigation is pretty nice but I don't like that your links aren't so explanatory.
    Another problem I saw on your website is that you have your google ads in the top center and your layout around 200px bottom. Align them on the same line:).
    Coding and Validation
    You HTML and CSS are not validated.Only 1 errors and 5 Warnings in your HTML and 2 errors in your CSS. You should validate them. You have minor errors that you can correct them.
    Browser compatibility and resolution
    Your site looks pretty nice in all browsers except MOZILLA FIREFOX. I dunno what's happening with it. Your layout works in all resolutions but you should use containers.
    Content
    HerselfI like that you have a picture with yourself. I see you are using English and czech. Why...Make your description in one language not two.
    Fan Fiction I can't comment it because everythinmg is in czech.
    Site I love this section. I think you should add more info:d. I love the second past layout of yours.
    Comments. This sections is pretty simple. I like it but I hate the cbox you used. I'm not a fan of cboxes.

    Overall
    I think you can make your own blog themes and coding them. Isn't so hard to make your own. I don';t like that you're using English for some pages and Czech for others. Try to have the same language for others. I saw that you aren't using containers. Maybe you should use them:) and centering your layout:d.

    the name is flysusanfly because fly is my nickname and susan my name... and flysusan was already taken :D

    as i already said, the layout is made to fit my screen (my small screen i must say), but i will try to make it bigger asap. about the grey, i can't really say because i'm kinda color blind and it all looks the same to me xD well, anyway, i will put alt text to the navigation, to make it easier for everyone.

    i'm suprised i have only one error, since everything i do is a one big error and i never did HTML coding before. strange.

    and i am very suprised that my layout doesn't work in firefox since i created it in firefox o.O weiiiiiird

    about my using of two different languages - it's just me, i'm that wannabe-american person and i use english whenever i can (usage is a part of learning, am i right?) and i would do the whole site in english, but it's being visited by my mostly czech friends and some of them doesn't understand a WORD in english, so i try to write the actual blog posts in czech.

    and i will definitely try to center the layout. :)

    On first appearance I can't tell where the navigation is all I see is a bunch of cluttered text. The colors can work but all smashed together isn't so great.
    I'm not sure why you have the huge black gap at the bottom of your layout. It's not needed, I would try to get rid of it completely.

    Your header text spacing is too close together, if anything spread it a little farther apart. I would also widen your layout column by about 300px. You don't have enough space for your content.

    That random image button at the top of your page is very distracting. I would get rid of it, move it to the bottom of the page or just put it on a links page. But definitely not in your navigation or in your header.

    I also would suggest dropping cutenews and going for a more secure blogging system such as wordpress or fanupdate.

    I think you could still keep a minimalistic type layout and add a couple images to it, a couple brushes or shapes behind your title. For your title I would suggest trying to find a really spiffy fancy font for that to dress it up some. Right now it's a bit too bland. Keep the rainbow theme going, I do like it, and it's rare to find a site that utilizes rainbow themes to where it works. Though maybe tone the colors down a little so they are more in the pastel range.

    I would suggest changing your padding around your inline images. There is some there but adding more would be nice and make it easier to read all the font around it and make things look a little less crowded.

    Your shout box... I guess, is neon green, avoid such contrasted colors like that, try a pastel green if anything and avoid extremely dark colors for your other font. Too much contrast and that causes eye strain.

    Your navigation. It's a mystery meat navigation, meaning I have no clue what I'm clicking on and where it's going to take me. It's highly suggestible that you change this to say what link goes where.

    And last, but certainly not least, your coding. I'm not sure what the javascript is all about. I see iframe something. You are using iframes with javascript? I would suggest switching to divs with header footer includes. You should pull all your css attributes out of your content if you are using external stylesheets.

    Overall your site's design I find is too small and cramped together, your coding needs some work. I would suggest getting away from iframes for numerous reasons. Which I think there is even an article on this site about the evils of iframes. lol! If you change the width of your main column add some images and make the colors a little softer I think it could work better.
    Try checking out this site for some great html and css tutorials.

    i really thought about what you said about my navigation and header text, but it's the way i wanted it to be and i don't feel any need to change it right now, but i will deffinitely consider it for the future layouts.
    i also won't change cutenews because i'm comfortable with it and i'm not very fond of wordpress. i already tried that before i got cutenews and i didn't like it much.

    about the add - i can't really do anything about the ads on the top of the page - it's a must-have because of my fuckin' host (webzdarma.cz). i'm looking for another free host, before i finally buy a domain.

    i already talked about the navigation links, i'm going to add some alt text to them... i hope it's enough...

    and btw, i don't know about any javascript!?!? i have a javascript on my page? what the hell? it's probably the stupid advertising *tired*

    i already read the article about "the evils of iframes", like you said, and i'm trying to convert from them, but it just don't get it (yes, i'm that dumb).

    thank you for pointing out many things i will consider changing, thank you really much!

    Your site didn't take very long to load, good job on that. It's also compatible in Firefox, which also gives you extra points.

    Layout
    Oh my god. Weborexic much? Layouts do not have to be skinny to look good, my friend. Try making it a bit wider next time. OTHERWISE, this is a very good layout. It's simple and neat, and definitely creative and original. I like the header part the best, and the navigation. The only problem with that, though, is that from these link names, I don't know what these link to! I agree with zai, put some alt text to them. Your CSS is nice.
    I think it's hilarious that your links, title, headers, and dates and stuff are in English, but your actual text is in Czech. Unfortunately, I can't understand Czech, so this review won't be very long.

    Haha, your About me page is in English and in Czech. Strange. Nice work on making this section lengthy. It's always good to know about the webmaster, even if it's in a different language! Haha. Wow, you and I share a lot of interests. Cool.
    Ah, I wish I could read your Fan Fiction. They look pretty long, which is good. You have a lot of stuff here, nice. :)
    Nice job on your site history page. The past layouts are nice. Maybe you could include more, though? Like, did you have any sites in the past? When and why did you get this site? Etc. That vividity layout is really nice.
    The cBox isn't really anything to review about, just a normal cBox. Maybe you can increase the font size, though? It's kinda small.

    Conclusion
    Overall, your site is pretty good. Except for the extremely skinny layout, and the fact that I couldn't understand it, you've done a pretty good job. Unfortunately, I would have given you a higher rating, if I could read your fan fiction. Sorry!! Good luck in the future. :)

    firstly, thank you for taking the time to review my site.

    about the skinny, weborexic (that word really made me chuckle :D) layout - it's made to fit my screen (1024x768), it looks good to me, i can't make it much wider, because it's wouldn't fit my screen, but i'll try to make it al least a little bit wider. i will also try to put alt text to the links, though it's made to be a bit confusing (that's just my rotten sense of humor :). i never thought about putting an alt text to it, that wouldn't hurt, so i'll do that, thank to you and zai

    about the fact that i write half in english and half in czech - i'm just that kind of wannabe american so i use english whenever i can, ha
    and i will definitely change the font size in the cbox

    and my fanfiction is not that interesting, it's just classical fairytails like cinderella or sleeping beaty rewritten into linkin park-ish versions xD but i have one translated into english, somewhere, if you're that interested ;)

    I also suggest that you convert from iframes. Iframes are quite annoying because they stop the visitor from bookmarking individual pages easily and they can cause browsers to crash because of the all the extra unnecessary space added to prevent scrollbars from appearing. You can follow a tutorial here if you need to, and try to use php includes if you're not doing so already. They make life so much easier :D
    I also recommend centering your layout. Right now it's on the left, which looks weird because the adverts are in the center so it looks a bit messy. There's a tutorial here on that.
    Furthermore would you be able to use CSS to make the advert's background less bright? It kind of stands out more than your actual website.
    There's not really much content either, and a lot of the content isn't accessible to a non Czech speaker. Maybe you could provide translations or something? Idk.
    Overall you've got a fantastically designed site, but it would be even better if you worked on the coding. Keep up the good work :
