on 3rd May 2009 and said:I usually try not review sites I feel do not have much to comment on. Basically sites which are in my opinion, near perfect. But, I felt I had to since I know your site deserves more then just two and a half stars. =)
At the moment though, there seems to be a problem with me getting to your site, so I will "review" from memory of lurking through everything last time I visited. If and when I can re-enter the site and happen to find something, I'll be sure to update here!
Layout/Design: I absolutely love the look and feel of this design. It screams personal and isn't blinding to the eye. You have a great color scheme going on here as well.
Content/Pages: Each page has just enough information it needs to hold true to the "personal" category. Your articles are very well written and truly interesting! Not to mention unique in their own right.
Overall: I see no major flaws and can only wish the best for the future of this site...even if the blog post are far in between. ;)
PS: This is probably my shortest review ever! Oh dear. XD
UPDATED 03 May 09:
No problem, glad I could help bring the rating up! lolI'm pleasantly surprised to hear you thought my articles are interesting though- they're on rather obscure topics after all, so I wasn't expecting people to like it.
Like I said, they were well written and unique! I'm a firm believer of appreciating good work when I see/read it, no matter the topic (well to an extent...lol).
No worries on the blog posts either, I know how that goes sometimes. I myself am not a consistent blogger, so who am I to talk? =P

Tea's Response:
Hi Roxy! First, I'm so sorry for the late response! I was away and didn't get the chance to properly sit down and reply until now. And second, thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review for my site. In all honesty, I had half-given up on receiving feedback by now, so yours came as a lovely surprise. :)
Eeps, I'm sorry you had trouble getting to my site at the time of review. My host, unfortunately, goes through phases of going down for short spurts of time, which is likely what happened in your case.
Thank you, though, for leaving a review anyway... and of course for the great compliments you've given my site. I'm glad you liked what you saw... and ah... yes, I do sort of not update all that often. :p I'm pleasantly surprised to hear you thought my articles are interesting though- they're on rather obscure topics after all, so I wasn't expecting people to like it. :p
Anyhow, once again, thank you for the reviewing and the help in pushing it beyond the 2 1/2 stars! :D

Tea's Response:
Thank you for the compliments, though I must admit I'm a tad confused about your rating system and how I ended up with one star if you love the layout, thought it was a great site, and had nice stuff?
On a different note, I appreciate the suggestion to make my site layout match my domain name but it's likely I wouldn't be doing so. I imagine my layouts would quickly become very boring and repetitive if I were to design something gray or related to chalk all the time.
I also tend to think a layout shouldn't need to coordinate or relate to the domain name itself- not unless it's a business site where a company's identity and purpose is important (and should therefore be reflected in their layout somehow). Fortunately, my site is a personal one, hmm?
And by the way, what do you mean by "LUCKY"...? I didn't think anything else in your review could throw me off more, but that certainly did the job.

on 20th Apr 2009 and said:Hi, since no one else seems to want to review this site, I guess its up to me, no I’m kidding, alright, shall we begin. First, the site is AMAZING! I really like the subtle simple colors with the mature colors surrounding it, feels very nice and comfortable, which is the right idea for a nice easy going personal site. yeah don’t you agree? Well you do its your site. graychalk sounds cool but I don’t know what you mean by misplaced pieces.. like you had chalk but it broke into pieces or something, whatever I think its catchy and the subheading is kind of a mystery! Sunpulp.i’ve heard that somewhere, is that lip balm? You have a lot of beach like items that’s I’m sure are just a girls accessory. Ehh that doesn’t sound right, I mean like you have lots of stickers on your banner, some I know, but most I’m confused about, why are they there? what’s their purpose, to look cool they do look cool, just don’t really connect to the site I suppose. I thought there was going to be a schoolish theme here but this is all turning out to be different and interesting too.
The main navigation up top: nice hovers, really neat effects I should say. Your site navigation: all is well and done with the welcome note up top, I have to admit this is a common structure but somehow it looks splendid with these colors and fonts you’ve used. The links are strong and visible from a mile away! I see you didn’t add a lot of extra trash people like to add for making their site seem more important or crowded…whatever they are trying to do it fails. Here, you didn’t even care to talk about yourself, I like that, thanks for not bragging because that’s saved for the About page right?
HOME page. The aging milestone, odd title but very nice formatting, it’s clear, bold, clean and easy to follow through. Your feet block quotes are so adorable! Its all justified which I haven’t seen done in the past but this is even better than just left alignment. I’m just so used to seeing images and avatars I’d like to say, you don’t have to, but if you wouldn’t mind, adding a beach themed avatar next to your entries. That’s all I’d add on this page and maybe the entire site. I haven’t seen it all yet though so just wait. Superb design by the way. The bottom is extra ordinary with what it says, finding my way to sunshine…its cuts off like you were going to say something bold and genius, but it cuts and I’m left uhh…lost.
ABOUT page: nice to meet you Tea!, that’s a sweet and cute and just prefect name. I don’t know why but I like it. Taayya. So you don’t mine if someone calls you Tea. That’s awful, tell that person to call you by your right name or else you’re gonna call them something else too. Hmm, you know, I don’t think your sites bad at all, besides, it’s a personal site, so why worry what others say you should or shouldn’t have… (ironic isn’t it) I like the fair amount of information you’ve displayed, it’s all fine with me! For this type of site, I don’t really want to see a contact form you know, just for the blogs a comment form, but a contact form would be overdoing it. so your email is juuussst right.
ARCHIVES page: simple, short, to the point! PREFECT, I really like how the sublinks and the summary list from that month show up on the same page rather than pages and pages of one or two links. well done my friend.
LINKS page: this page is kind of funny, I get the hint that you like food. Where is Taipei? I thought you were going to have a network of links here but that’s alright, less is more. (irony compared to my site where more is always less…)
MISC page: miscellaneous stuff never really gets me interested because I’ve seen some pretty strange miscellaneous stuff. Here I don’t see anything crazy or abusive. Lol. Your uhh art doesn’t seem to load. Uh I had to click it four times for it to work. Your art is organized in a fashion anyone can understand and follow through. Your DA link is also a nice addition. I really like the Mood Festival article. So overall, you don’t have to add anything extra at all, the sites pretty neat and designed to fulfill its purpose. Thanks for letting me review the site.
Optional Additions: Avatar aligned left to site entries on home page.

Tea's Response:
Hello and thank you for taking the time to review my site. I was indeed wondering if there's a plague on my site, but I figured I should be patient. ;)
First, thank you for all the kind comments; I'm glad you liked the site. Here's my response to some points you made:
- I can see why the "misplaced pieces" bit may seem confusing. It's something I'm aware of as well, but it was also something personal to me that I really wanted to add in and so it's there. I did make an attempt at explaining it briefly in my site info page though.
- I'm happy you noticed the little bits of details I added... like the navigational hovers, the feet in my blockquotes, and the various "decorations" I added while hopefully keeping things simple. :)
- It's funny how you said you got the hint I like food (which I do). I really do need to update the links page one of these days to include more than the 2 food links!
- I'm not sure why the art page didn't load for you. I'm guessing it was a connection issue. My host has a tendency to lag and be slow sometimes, so maybe that's the reason? Either way, I'm sorry you had difficulty accessing the page.
- In regards to adding an avatar on my blog entries... I did briefly consider that as I had gotten used to using them in Livejournal. However, I eventually decided against it for various reasons. I do think it could add a bit more color to the main content area, so I may perhaps reconsider it again. Thanks for the suggestion (and again, for reviewing). :)
