Some advice: QUIT using Internet Explorer!

Although the layout doesn't actually overlap the blog - it looks like it.
I understand you use IE - that isn't the best browser.
Yeah, I only covered the layout. But everything else is fine.

Please don't get offended at what I say about your site, it is constructive criticism only.
Anyways, your site:Layout[/i]
Your layout, honestly- I don't like it. Sorry, It's yellow, and it's not centered. It's yellow and green, has cats, flowers, and crowns. It doesn't really match. The colors are fine, but really- I can tell you like cats, but not Cat Princes covered in Comic Sans. Also, your header image, I can tell you used Comic Sans MS. #1 rule of web design: Don't use Comic Sans MS. Go to dafont.com or searchfreefonts.com and get some creative fonts. They really do help in web design. Don't use these for body text, just for header images.
Your layout is not centered, and it's just left aligned. Google "center website layout."Site (General)[/i]
Your site is a .web.com subdomain, which is usually known as a first ever, start up website. I would suggest getting a co.cc subdomain, with 000webhost.com hosting. Actually, I suggest you buy hosting (paradehosting.com) and get a free domain (it's included.)Coding[/i]
Lets take a look at your coding, here. As you can see, you don't have many errors, but for how small the document is, you should fix it. You need to put alt after the image, such as alt="header" instead of just leaving it blank.
Overall, your site is pretty well coded (compared to other sites I've seen)Looks[/i]
Hmm, you really should download a copy of Mozilla Firefox, and fix the way your site looks. The majority of people now run Firefox, and I strongly suggest you fix your site for them. For lots of people, if the design doesn't work with their browser, they'll leave.Overall[/i]
You have some things to work out with your design, I suggest fixing those. I love your site, and your writing is great. Probably the best freewebs site I've seen.Good Luck!

on 10th Jun 2009 and said:My name is Nicole, I'll be reviewing your site today. Forgive me, for I'm a little rusty. This will be my first review in several months.
I'll start with the design.
Yellow? An abundance of yellow! Wow. Anyway...lulz.
You've opted for a graphic based design, fine. But, this graphic based navigation isn't working out. As you stated already, you know this. It does this in Safari, too. (I don't have IE installed on my computer, so I'm not aware of how it looks in that browser.) Since FF is become increasingly popular, its best that your layout look good in both browsers.
Two alternatives for you are: A, image mapped coding; B, a CSS based navigation. I prefer CSS based navigation, myself. I think it looks neater and you have a better chance of cross-browser compatibility than with that of an image mapped code.
Also, regarding your navigation, when I visit a personal blog, I like to know about the blogger first. Therefore, the "About" link should go before the "Site" link. For this end, it looks "Site" is first. Maybe it's just my browser. When I hover over About, I see the same thing. I'd first like to know about YOU, then your website.
One thing that also stands out, for me, is the lack of line height. Although it might be acceptable for others, with a font like Arial, because it's so thin, I like the line height to be at least 1.75. Maybe, it's just me.
Now, a run through the W3C Validator is due. You're style sheet is valid, but your code is not. You've forgotten to add "alt" codes to your images. Alas, your coding can never be completely validated; you can thank Webs.com for that.
On to the content.
Your about me page starts off with a personal anecdote about how you were born legally dead, which interests me right off the back (bat?), then it goes on to talk about your past websites. This second paragraph deserves a spot on your "Site" page or to be moved down. It's fine to talk about your experience on the web scene, but give a brief summary?
Skykingcat is my third website. My first was relatively popular (as far as Quizilla layouts went). I then moved onto a graphic based site. Still, I feeling the urge to share my writings along with my graphics, I developed Skykingcat.
I find myself skimming over the third paragraph. I find it a bit...irrelevant to you? Though, I love the fourth paragraph. I think it really highlights your personality more than anything else I've read so far. I'm ACTUALLY reading it. Not skimming. When I get to the fifth, I stop to read it because of the fourth. I liked Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, too.
I'm going to step backward now, to the site page. At the risk of sounding redundant, this page is where some background information on how you got here to this very website. I see nothing except for a few site statistics and past layouts (which, I enjoy seeing). Nothing else to see here, I suppose.
On to the cat page. I'm not an animal person, so I'm probably not too sentimental towards the rescuing of animals, but the story is interesting enough. To the content.
Photo galleries never interest me, but this one is surprisingly well organized and I thank you for the warning at the front. Nevertheless, I'll bid this page adieu. Ditto with the writings page, which you're clearly passionate about, and I commend you for that.
The review page has awkward page breaks in it. Long spaces between the headings. You've used
to make these awkward page breaks, which are not pretty. I'm not coding expert, but when I want to make some space, I used a tag. Also, instead of using crosshairs for fake bullet points, you might consider using real ones and using CSS to change the styling of them. It's a property called "list-style-type". See it here.Skipping the affiliates page, I'm at the credits page. Some sites listed are more resources then credentials. Maybe use headings to separate them into two categories: Resources and Credits. And, instead of using and tags, use and .
In conclusion, Skykingcat seems interesting enough for me to revisit. Alas, this website could use a few coding fixes and...fix the navigation?

LAYOUT
There's two things that jump out at me (negatively) with your layout.
First, your navigation system is overlapping itself. I don't know if it's a firefox thing or what, and glimpsing at your code nothing looks too out of line, so you should certainly to look into that.
screenshot
The second thing is that the background at the top is a bit much. I would suggest making it lighter or having it fade out on the sides as well as the bottom.
Other than that, your layout looks pretty good. It's very readable and easy to navigate through.
SITE/ABOUT
You've developed these pages very well. I really applaud you for that. Everything is well written and does a great job of explaining things. However, the 2nd and 3rd paragraph of your "About Jackie" page could probably be moved to the site's about page, or summarized into one paragraph of your bio- you veer off of yourself and onto websites a tad too much.GALLERY/WRITING
First thing, the gallery expands out of the layouts content area; you should look into customizing the width of it or trying a different way to display your photos. By the way, STICK DUDES ARE AMAZING! =D
The writing pages are well organized. No problems here. You have a lot of poems! They're all quite lovely too! Awesome job! =DCONCLUSION
Overall, I have no real criticisms of your site, It's off to a great start. Just look into that navigation. ;)
And keep on truckin' with your writing, it's fabulous!Using Firefox on Windows | Report This?

Wow, thanks for that screenshot! That's a LOT different from what I have in IE. I'll definately get onto fixing that! (Stupid cross browser *grumble grumble*)
