Aisling gave it

on 29th Jun 2009 and said:Hi there! My name is Aisling and I will be reviewing your site today.
So, firstly, I like the title, but I think that the M should be darker. It seems like it is supposed to be an achor of the title, but since it is lighter, it reads more as "AGNIFIQUE." The M needs to be more emphasized than the rest of the text.
Next, I notice that this seems VERY cramped. The words in the hearts are difficult to read, with the busy pattern, that includes a colour similar to the text, behind it. I'm also not a fan of how nothing changes on hover. I expect links to look different and pop out when I hover on them. Then, the content itself is pressed right up against the edges. I would recommend at least 10px of padding around everything. Personally, I wouldn't stay to read your entries because I feel claustrophobic.
Next, I think when showcasing your photography the thumbnails on your blog entries should be much bigger, and take up the majority of the space. At the moment, they're small and don't really make me want to click them.
Your footer is kind of random. I would put more spaces between the links to your friends, since they seem pretty cramped. Your link to Magnifique in the footer has no styling. It is the ugly purple default colour.
That's all I can say about the design, really. I enjoy plaid, and pink, A LOT, but this doesn't really impress me.
The Site page is pretty... empty. I can see that this is your blog, and I assume eventually I'd catch on about the artwork and such. Clicking on Credits, I see that none of the visited links have styles and the purple is REALLY ugly. The way your credits are laid out is weird as well. There's a space after the heading, but none before, and the lists are running into the heading following. Once again, it looks cramped. You need to give your design and content space to breathe.
In your portfolio, I really like the header with the red flowers. I don't like the Twiggy one. For one, the use of celebrity images without permission from the photographers, isn't very nice. I see that you're beginning to get into photography-- how would you like it if someone stole your work? I know if someone stole mine, I'd feel unhappy about it.
Your photography is VERY blurry. You definitely need to work on your technique quite a bit. I would suggest taking a book from the library. I got one called "How to Photograph Absolutely Anything" that was very good.
The Visitor section has the title "Content." This is a HUGE pet peeve of mine, since EVERYTHING on your site, from your layout to your copyright notice IS content.
It would be nice if I could view your vector set before downloading them. The thumbnail doesn't really do a tonne to convince me that this would be something I'd like to use.
Your brushes also aren't really impressing me. Did you draw the Chinese symbols yourself? Take the pictures of the guitar? If not, you're stealing imagery.
And then you offer reviews. And you don't use a point system because people don't like it? Okayyyy. Weird reason, but whatever.
I looked through your reviews, and nothing really jumped out at me. Your reviews aren't spectacular, but they aren't horrible, either. Some of them read just as summaries of the site, without any real criticism.
And this concludes my review. I think that a lot of work is needed to get this site up to a level where I would like to visit it more often. I find it to be cramped, and the content didn't really interest me.

Site Name: I love it! It really expresses your site
Layout: Its simple yet elegant. There's not so many graphics that its overcrowding I'm a big fan of plaid as well :)
Content: You don't have alot of content. I recommend adding some more to the "you" section and "site" section. You're a very good photographer however, I love your pictures! For your blog, you write alot (which is a good thing!) its not so short that someone just passes over your site.
Coding: Nothing wrong with the coding as far as I can see.
Overall: I'm very pleased at your site. I will be sure to be a returning visitor :)

You always have the most intriguing layouts, wonderful photography skills, and a great sense of style for your brushes, layouts and other graphics. I think you're a great designer, and you're the queen of simple layouts. You make them look wonderful, how ever non-extravagant they are, and that's what I love about your style. Your blogs are always interesting too! I love reading them, and what you have to say about your life. :) I haven't read a boring one yet!
