First impressions of your site are quite reluctant. It's abusive on the eyes. Black is always a heavy background colour to use, so the colour you use with it should be carefully selected as it could cause this "too-bright" effect. I don't think the black, white and blue work. White and Black kinda harm one another. If you insist on using a black back ground, then change the font colour to a grey colour. Then is would also help with reading the content.

    Babyrawr? Cool.
I like your header. Nice simple, easy to load and small. Perfect. I couldn't ask for more.

Your side bar doesn't make sense to me. You have a welcome bit and a The girl bit. Aren't they the same? Sort of. I mean, instead of having these two separate parts why not make them into one swift segment. So by combining them you could have:

    WELCOME
    Welcome to Baby Rawr, Ann-Marie's page on the web! I blog about my life. I'm thirteen years old, I love twilight, The Jonas brother, Web design . . . etc. . . [read more?}

You could have something to that effect hence making you side bar less cluttered.

With other pages, I don't think the music player is suited their, maybe that should be on your "about me" page? As I don't see how it's site related. Personal preference though at the end of the day.

With the domain contest, I have nothing to say. I think your hyperlinks should be centred within your sidebar though as it would look more presentable than if it was (and currently is) aligned left.

Updates should be further up the page. And I don't really believe blog updates should be there, it's nice to know you blog regularly, but I believe updates should really only display things none blog related. Such as new resources added, new articles or so forth. And if you really are going to add them there, then make them into a link so if people want to see it, they only have to click and not go looking g through your site which could causes frustration.

I like how the updates are set up in little boxes though, really cool.

Affiliation should possible be above your Domain contest.

Layout credits I believe should be entered within your "site" area. Saying your site is best viewed in firefox means nothing. No body is going to change their browser to look at your site. Some people can't. At University, they only allow I.E / Safari and at my work they only allow I.E. So If I was gonna look at your site in those places, which I possible may do, there is no option, so it's best just to make your site compatible with all browser and take it off.

Plus poeple who don't know short hand for Fire Fox is FF would be clueless. I would seriously look into just removing it.

Nothing is wrong with your footer except your say "VALID CSS." Your site does not have Valid CSS. If you display this and your site really doesn't, people will check and when they do and see it's not valid at all, they won't be impressed. It's only one error though, so I'd just look into fixing that. :} Everyone makes mistakes.

A lot of advertisements there I see too. You've kinda shoved all your advertisements to the bottom of your site. Even though I can see you've attempted to do it in a nice neat way, it looks slightly tacky. Possbly look at having less advertisments? Poeple's image of your site is very important, so you don't want to give off the wrong impression, easpecially if it's their first.

Your owner section of your site is cool.
Short and concise which is what I like.
Only suggestion would be in the OWNER bit you jump straight into Country. I suggest putting a NAME bit before that. Because I was like..."Where's her name?" even though it's in the side bar.

When going into your sub about me pages one thing I found irritating is that you offer no back button selection. Even though I have a back button on my browser, and also the option of pressing the OWNER button again. That involves scrolling to the top of the page. You should offer this at the bottom of each page. Or have the sub navigation on each page so I can browse more easily.

on Visitor you have a host list? Why? Yes possible helpful but how many people really use your site for this and who would just search in google for free hosts? I don't see the point in this. it's like you are adding content for content sakes.

Clicking through the navigation I got agitated that I clicked designs and it totally redirected me to another website of yours? WUAH?! That really annoyed me. You should not really have it there. It's nothing to go with the navigation through your site. It should really be linked under Network or something to that effect. As some people would not want to be redirected to another site, I know I didn't. At all.

Tutorials I am not really impressed with, I've seen quite a lot of the same things everywhere. A suggestion for improvement would be actually doing something you know you found difficult to do, and know to the best of your ability hasn't already had a tutorial written about it, then write it. If not your site kinda melts into the ocean of other sites offering the same stuff.

I liked your articles. I thought they were pretty snazzy. :] Especially your 25 ways to go green tutorial. It was pretty immense. I think you should possible write more of these. But I am bias. I like articles.

Last suggestions would be better organisation of your site and review is browser friendliness for possible visitors. SO you look through your site and see where it could be more efficient and re-evalute your content. IS some to things you offer really needed? And if not, what could you offer instead?

I genuinely hope this review has helped you out. I try and offer solutions and suggestion when I criticize.

    Have a nice day
    -Shola

The usual bullet point review of Baby Rawr

    - I do not like the massive image at top which pushes content the users want to see too far down below the fold.

    - The logo and design elements are nice in the image at the top but it just needs to be smaller so the content can go higher.

    - The google adsense stuff right in the upperleft part of the start of the content is not cool. You can integrate it in a better way.

    - The template / design layout is way too narrow making everything look crammed on the screen.

    - Overall I really cannot get a good feel for the site or what it is all about.

Hey, I'm Fan. I'm obviously going to review your site xP

Layout- Your head isn't that bad although it seems kind of empty because of all the white. I can also tell where it cuts off because of the flat line at the top of the photo booth pictures part. The people in it could also be slightly larger to help relieve the white. The rest of the layout is nice and easy on the eyes, but it appears cluttered to me. So much text pushed together in small spaces. Also, I'm using IE, and your gray credit bar is hovering over your news post at the bottom. It's probably caused because your news posts are going past sidebar. Validating your coding will help with multiple browser compatibility. Try using Browsershots.org to see if it works in a bunch of different browser types.

Navigation- That's a really bad place for it, and I know you've heard this a few times. The easier it is to navigate your site, the more visitors you'll have. I, like everyone else, suggest moving it to a better place like at the feet of your people (sorry, I don't know who they are) or even on top of your divider. That way, visitors won't have to scroll all the way to the top just to change to a different section. Besides placement of your navigation, it seems really organized.

Content- Your content is decent but it could be better. You also don't seem to have much up yet. I like that you have more than just graphics/resources and tutorials on your site. It gives something else to the site that varies from site to site. I remember seeing contests all over sites. Not so much anymore. I like that you have contests. Again, it sets your site apart. One question: If comments are closed, why keep the Comments For Visitor/Tutorials/etc area on any of the pages? If there's no use for it, you might as well get rid of it, and hey, it'll help lose some of the clutterness.

Overall- I think your site is nice but it needs a good amount of work here and there. Overall, I'd probably come back again. Good luck with your site~

You have such a wonderfuly wide, welcoming and eyecatching header and such a small, unnoticeable in comparison content section. The header image takes up such a large amount of space, surely you want people to notice the content as well as your nice header image?

    Navigation:
I see you like to play hide and seek with the navigation, its very well hidden!
Might I suggest moving it to a line under the header or making it bigger, navigation is the second most important part of a site after the homepages impact, well imho!

I'm not sure I like ads above the welcome? It feels as though you give more precedence to making money than you do welcoming your own visitors. I have nothing against ads, I just think they should come second to the visitor :)

I think the blue links in the ads have instantly made your site look default. Scrolling past those hideous blue links your content section is very neat and organised, though I think your links definitely need to be differentiated from the text.

I like your quotes in white boxes, it makes them stand out and the layout more interesting as you haven't any image in any of your posts.

It'd be great if your titles were permalinks? It sounds strange but I click titles, not comment links when I comment!

Your pages still have the comments option enabled, even though comments are disabled on those pages.

Overall I like the header but the colours used aren't to my taste, their too bland, the navigation is far too difficult to find and although I'm willing to overlook the ads, your content isn't very original either.

Hi Ann-Marie! I'll be reviewing your site today. :)

    Layout
I'm torn between liking and disliking the layout. While, I like the overall color scheme I'm unsure of whether I like what you've done with the image. The people look a little washed out and the photos on the left side don't quite go with the rest of your image. It seems sort of... random. Also, the images you are using are copyrighted. If someone wanted to, they could take legal action against you. Although I don't think its common it does happen (http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/showthread.php?t=390902). The text is a fairly good size, easy to read with the black on white. I feel as if the columns are smaller than they should be and it kind of squishes the text. I think a little more padding between the two columns would also be beneficial to help separate the two. On the left column, you have ads at the beginning, but there's nothing under there, just so you know. I think you might also consider adding an RSS feed to your site as well? Regular visitors to your blog might benefit from it. :)

    Navigation
Was difficult to find at first. It doesn't stand out from the title. I think instead of using an image map, you should try css block navigation (http://www.tutorialtastic.co.uk/tutorial/horizontal_css_block_navigation). I think it would look nice right above your actual content. Plus, there's a lot of cool things you can do with it (http://css.maxdesign.com.au/listamatic/index.htm).

    Content
Owner - Basic information is nice. I feel like this page is fairly organized. Books - Wow. Ambitious. I'm the kind of person who is in the middle of like 6 books and never finishes any of them. Good luck with these. :) Contact Me - Basic. Nothing interesting. Favorites - Well organized. Nothing interesting to note. Fanlistings, schedule... well organized. The collective link doesn't seem like it fits in here. I think it would go better in the site part.
    Visitor -
Resources - Seems like more links than necessary. Maybe just have the links at the beginning. The resources are nice otherwise. Crisp. Clean. Same issue with copyright, but I won't nag you anymore.
Downloads - Same thing. A lot of links someone would have to click through. It might turn someone off.
Reviews - Once again, a lot of links. You could easily combine some pages. In the rules, is it supposed to say Secret Circles? Did you merge it with your site, or is it supposed to be separate?
Tutorials - You have a link for it in your navigation as well. You really only need it once. Also a lot of clicking. Instead of all the links, maybe just have headers with the corresponding links underneath them. A lot of these tutorials are kind of pointless. Like the wordpress one. The zip for wordpress comes with its own installation guide; there's no need to write another tutorial for it. Same with Cpanel as well. I think creating subdomains varies from host to host, and most probably have their own tutorials on how to do. Most I was hoping for different tutorials; but these ones are pretty much splashed everywhere. Very generic. Shouldn't the colorization tutorial be under paint shop pro since that's the program it uses?
Contests - These are becoming increasingly rare these days. It's nice to see a comeback. You should have a link to your domain contest here too. :)
Fun - Guess the song -This seems more like a contest since only two people can win.
Reads/Articles - I really liked the article 25 ways to go green. I'm unsure if you wrote it or if its copy pasted though. Top 5 Favorite websites was a nice read.Something I haven't seen at a lot of other sites. Site Validation - I was interested to see this page, and after having read it, I think you should add more to it. Having a site that has valid coding doesn't automatically make it unpopular like you seem to imply, rather it allows a person to better cater to their visitors. When coding is incorrect, different browsers sometimes render coding differently. Having valid coding allows more (but not all) browsers to render your site correctly (http://validator.w3.org/docs/why.html). While I wouldn't depend on it, have you even used http://browsershots.org? However, validation isn't everything, its much more important to have your site be consistent in browsers.
Miscellaneous/Others - Most of these are just links, that seems more like resources. Website interviews - This is different. I like these. Good job.
Ask - Just an ask page. I don't personally feel like this needs to be in the navigation, but rather that the owner page would be more appropriate, but whatever.
Domain - Straight forward and to the point. Nothing of interest to note. On your past layout page I'm just curious about the rating. Is that how well that you liked it, or how well your visitors liked it? I'm just curious.
Designs - This links to an outside site. I think this would have been more appropriate in your collective page, and not on your main navigation. At least it doesn't open up in an outside window though.

    Coding
Since you've already expressed you don't care about validation, I guess I don't need to tell you you have 62 errors; most of which are relatively easy to fix. I am excited to see that you have a doctype however. :)

    Overall
Your site shows a lot of potential. I don't think it's something I would come back to, but that might just be me. I was excited to see some of your articles, and hope you might consider adding more to why you have validation, as I just left feeling only half fed. I feel as though you have way to many links to get to pages, when just a header would do instead of a whole new page. A lot of these pages also just have one link which is pointless. I feel with some more hard work on your site however, it'll greatly improve. :) :) Good luck.

Thanks for the review. About the Secret-Circle, I probably forgot to change it after I moved sites. I wrote the 25 ways to grow green from a lot of the stuff I do. The layout rating is how well I liked it.Thanks! =)

Hey I'm Francine and I'll be reviewing your site. :)

    Layout-
Hmm...it has it's goods and bads. I don't like what you did to the image and I could barely read the text underneath it. Does it say Rolling Stones? Did you get it from the Rolling Stones magazine cover? But I like on the left with the photo-booth film image. Very cool, and very popular with layouts currently. BUT, don't put your ads right on the very top of your sidebar. Put them, if anywhere, at the very bottom. Nobody wants to see ads right away. Are there ANY links or am I just not seeing them? I searched the layout up and down and I don't see any. If you don't have any, I suggest getting some. Even if you don't want a graphics site, maybe make a page all about you or something, since I'm guessing that it's a personal blog site. Oh wait, there are SOME pages. But not really. One of them is a contest and the other is a music player. Since you do have pages, I suggest putting them on the top somewhere so people can actually see them? Visitors don't want to look for links. If they don't see them right away, they just think that there are none. Oh wait again! There is ANOTHER page and it's about you! Please put those pages together and at the top of the layout? Maybe then visitors might find them.

    Overall-
You really need to work on building up your site. Right now, to tell the truth, it looks unprofessional and unorganized. Have a navigation bar instead of links located in seperate places all over the site.

Note: this is my personal opinion, and I may be harsh, but the truth hurts sometimes. :) I give you good luck to you and your site and I hope you progress well.

Thanks for the review. I have to put the ads there as required by my host. The links are above the title of the site on the layout.
