I really like the colour scheme. I am a fan of simple sophisticated themes(Unlike my own site) and just really like the touches of blue.
I think the footer may bit a bit large. Thought about making it smaller? It's just so BIG, y'know?
I like the plug in which other site we can catch you on too at the end of the blog post.Even though I am 100% against advertising you've done a good job not to rape my eyes with it. So I think the amount you've got (which is all topic site related advertising) is very good.
I like the two navigations. They work very well together.
About content, all I can say is it's very good. I mean, it's so refreshing to see someone have a blog/site about something other than graphics and things. Y'know? I think it's a brilliant idea.
I can't really suggestion any improvements apart from the obvious "Keep adding more content". Oh and the italic font you use in "Why spending less can be better than earning more", well the font(the italic one) is too small (for me) and I found it hard reading it for two reason. One it's too light. Try a slightly darker shade. Two, it's too small, have a larger font.
That's all.

on 11th Jul 2009 and said:4-part reviews: first impression, visual & technical aesthetics, and UI (user experience, ease of use, etc.).
First Impression
At first I thought the page just wasn't loading right, since everything was white. I had glanced at it when you first put this up, and I think I liked that template more than the one you have now. There's a little known fact that dark templates actually use less power than bright templates. They're usually easier on the eyes, too.Visual Aesthetics
In one blunt word: boring. I know it's a pre-made template, but it's not exactly an exciting one. Being that you're running a financial/political blog, it makes me feel like I'm sitting through a 7-hour seminar with Ben Stein as a speaker. Not to make you scurry about WordPress' theme base again, but you should probably find a new template. If you don't know how to make your own and aren't in the market of hiring a designer, I'd suggest looking at the sites of designers. Many of them offer free WordPress templates, and they're often stunning.Along with it being a rather bland experience, there are also inconsistencies among your posts. A few of them have strange indenting where it need not be (i.e., On Fair Play and Sportsmanship, 5th paragraph), lack of padding to separate paragraphs (same entry as the indenting), and different font size & line height (i.e., Spending Less Than You Earn: Part Two).
Lastly, the search bar. I didn't check in any other browsers to see if it was just the positioning or not, but the Google custom search bar is below the navigation bar, making it look like you have two search input areas. Of course, when you click on the more visually attractive one, it turns out it's not anything but an image. Very misleading.
Technical Aesthetics
Technical aesthetics are just as, if not more, important than visual. It doesn't necessarily always mean that code has to be perfectly clean; it could be interesting code. The template you have now is fairly clean, but like I said, it's boring. It doesn't keep my attention. What are your goals of your blog? Is it just your personal archive, or are you looking to expand to new levels, attract readers from all ends of the earth? If you want to build a large following, you need to look at your site from a reader's point of view. When (if) you look for a new layout, look for one that might keep visitors coming back. It could be one that takes advantage of JavaScript for some interesting effects, or one that makes your site more interactive.
You really need something that will make your blog stand out from the millions of others that are on the web. Right now it's just, "hey look, I'm writing things." The sad truth of internet users is that they have short attention spans. They don't like staying on one page for more than a minute or so (and here I am writing an essay for a review). Try to keep things short and sweet, but informative at the same time. Take a look at what the big guys do. Take The Consumerist, for example. Instead of always giving out a bunch of in-your-face facts, they mix in a few anecdotes here and there. Very short, interesting current events will make a visitor smile, and likely return to your site.
UI, UX, etc.
I have no qualms about the difficulty of your site. Extremely easy to navigate, a comment link right where it should be, easy-to-read font. Perfect in this area.Overall
Since I'm a designer, I can only look at this in a designer's point of view. Visual creativity is usually what makes me come back to a site, and like I said, the template you chose is mediocre. The design itself almost makes it feel like one of those parked sites. You do have quite a bit of information (maybe too much in some cases), so you're doing well there, but again, it's not of my interest.Using Firefox on Windows | Report This?

on 11th Jul 2009 and said:I am using the newest firefox on a macbook and going to do a bullet point style review of the Net Worth Canada site.
- The first thing that stands out like a sore thumb are the google ads on the site that do not mesh well with the color scheme you have picked. You should work to intergrate them in a way so that they look more to be a part of the site rather than an advertisment this should ensure that you get a higher click through rate and thus could be more profitable for the traffic that you do get.
- The logo is very bland and could use some spice. Why not put a little effort into doing something that pops a bit more so people will remember the domain name.
- The black wash on the outer edge of this site is a bit much. I think with the white text is is not very appealing to jump into reading and is also a bit tougher on the eyes compared to other sites that use a softer color pallette with blues, yellows, greens, and oranges.
- The top navigation looks clean but it would be better if you gave them some sort of separator or line to break them up. Even better would be if you could just turn them into buttons so the it is easier and more intuitive for the user to browse through all of the cool areas of the site.
- The footer area is really wacky and unstructured. It is like the site falls a part at the bottom and is really hard to make sense of. It could be cleaned up and made a bit more structured so that it has a cleaner look.
- Since this is on wordpress you should do some digging and find other tools and templates that could step up the design.
Overall it is ok and I give it 2 stars.

waynekp's Response:
Hey Zippy,
Thanks for taking the time to review my site. I do agree that the ads stand out a little too much. I want to take a snoop through WordPress and see if there aren't any better templates, as I know literally nothing about designing my own site. I think that really limits my ability to implement some of the changes you've suggested. I do like having a darker site though, I think it makes it stand out a little more.
