Hey Kayt! I'm Sophia *waves*, but I'm sure you know that already >.< .

    First impression
I love the colors! I often like colors rarely used, and I like the combination between Grey and red. It has a nice effect.

    Layout
I really like the simplicity in this layout, it';s very effective. i already mentioned the colors thing and how i love them. The background is a great combination.

I really like your navigation, though I think should add title="NAV", so the visitor would know they're clicking on a visitor page. For example Visitor* . I love how the navigation is intacted with the header, and the about me info in in a 2 column header.

Your footer is lovely, I always like 3 column footers, they just attract me.

I love the style in your "tutorials" page, pretty organized. All in all you have a pretty good layout.

    Content

    About
I think this page should contain more than "about me", since you don't have a website page. You should include your site history and stuff like that. You also don't have a credits page, you should put that too.

Though you provide good information about yourself here.

    Links
    Nothing wrong here

    Tutorials
I think the tutorials you have are pretty basic, good for beginners, I'm sure you could add more useful ones.

    Ask
I think the ask me feature is a cool way to connect with your visitors, other than that nothing wrong here!

All in all, you have a pretty good site. I would suggest getting your own style. Since this style is a bit everywhere. I pretty much like your site. Keep up the good work.

thanks for your review :) I recently switched to a one column layout, thats why I've made the about page the way it is. I haven't added the sub links because I'm not sure how to display them with a one column lol (in a good and effective way). when I have a side bar, their usually linked to the pages in the sidebar :)
I actually like the style lol, thats why its up :D

I love your site, I have been viewing your site since I was 9 years old. I was your affiliate at one point I think, but then my host sold her site and I had a long hiatus and felt bad that I had left all of my affiliates hanging, anyway thats being the point because today I;m reviewing YOUR website. Not telling you the life and times of Jamie.

So you might have guessed it, but I'm Jamie and I'mm be reviewing your site on Google Crome on a PC.

I have always loved your layouts, the colors are brilliant but simple. Elegant, but Edgy.

I love the main text used for the Blog Titles (The Shadow/Glow affect is pure awesomeness!.)

I like how your sidebar isn't filled with tons and tons of crap...unlike other sidebars.

I like how instead of trying to fit everything about you on one page and keeping it to a minimum, you go all out with separate pages about everything about you, the site etc. I think people enjoy a blog much more when they know more abut the person who writes or, should I say, "Types" it .

I like your wordpress themes, Even though theres only one, I still like it. To bad I don't use wordpress! :( I got old after a while because of the countless times Ive tried to make blogs on there.

The bullets are cute, I personally don't use bullets allot and was never good at making them so yours are like gold to me! XD

Your tutorials seem to be in tip-top shape :)

Overall I do like your site, sometimes your blogs could get boring, but thats because I'm probable like, 8 years younger than you!

keep up the good work Kayt! :)

thanks for taking the time to review my website :)
I know I need to add more themes, but honestly, I was thinking about removing them because I don't want to be ripped off y people. I would make them in non - wordpress layouts, but I haven't done that in a long that, that I honestly forgot how to do it :| LOL.

sorry my blogs are boring... lol.

Hey, I'm Jules and I will review your site from my personal view today. :)
    My screen resolution is 1024 X 768.

    First Impressions :
Your site loads pretty quickly which is great because it means that the visitor is more likely to stay on your site then close the tab or window. The colours look nice together, the text is readable & there isn't anything wrong so far. :)

    Navigation :
It is nice & easy to spot. The links are appropriately named. Your navigation could be more spread out length wise & the font could be larger if you wanted to make it super easy to spot. To make the navigation look even nicer you could use CSS Sprites.

    Layout :
I love how you have kept everything nice and simple in this layout & it is easy to spot the main colours used; black, purple & grey.

The header image is nice but it could be larger to show more of the purple swirl. The text could be sharpened more too.

Something I don't like is the blog header. There seems to be a white border around it making it look less attractive.

I actually would swap your sidebar & footer around. Usually people want to know who the owner of the site is & they usually look to the sidebar for this instead of scrolling down & back up. Advertisements should be in a place where they are seen the majority of the time. Recently Updated, Popular Posts & Top Commenters are more of a statistic & people wouldn't look at them as much which is why I suggested you switch them around.

Validation : I'll start with the CSS & then move onto the HTML. Validation isn't the most important thing in a personal/resource site but it is nice to achieve.

    - CSS: You currently have invalid CSS 2.1 with 10 errors but this is because you have used properties that are valid in CSS 3 but not CSS 2.1. There is no way to declare CSS 3 yet (I think) so you can't change anything to make your CSS valid unless your willing to remove those properties causing you errors. You can view your CSS results here.

    - HTML: You currently have invalid XHTML 1.0 Transitional with 20 errors. You can see the results here.

Most of your errors are due to you not using the img tag correctly. In XHTML all images must have an alt="" attribute. Also there is a / at the end. Here is an example of a valid XHTML img code:
    <img src="http://tinypic.com" alt="this is an image" />

Other errors you have are due to you using 2 ids on the same page. An id can only be used once where as a class can be used multiple times on the same page. Read this article for more information on this error.

You have some other small errors which can be fixed easily. I recommend you to read this article if you want to learn more about XHTML.

    About :
What I hate is when people use the acronym 'lol' on their sites apart from their blog. The only change I would make is to take out 'lol' from this page.

I almost skipped the rest of the pages in this section because my eye just caught the sub navigation! You may want to make the sub-navigation stand out more as most people are used to sidebars that don't change & that's why they may miss this.

    - Owner: Well written! You could also add more to this page like your favourite holidays & what you've learnt in life.

    - Advertising: Nothing wrong here. The only suggestion I have is to make more buttons for people to link you back with.

    - Contact Me: This is one of the best 'contact me' pages I've seen. You link different forms of contacting you & explain each. There is also a form to contact you.

    - Credits: Perfect!

    - Favourite Bloggers & Websites: I like the fact that you don't have affiliates but you link your closest friends.

    - Terms Of Use: Great! You've covered all the sections of your site.

    Visitor :
Everything on this page is neatly organised & it is easy to find. I like the requests form on the sidebar. You might also want to change requests to suggestions.

    - Bullets: Great! I like how you've made different styles of bullets & used different colours. You might want to make a tutorial on how to use these.

    - Wordpress Themes: This one theme is a really nice simple theme. You may also want to make a html one available to non Wordpress users.

    - Tutorials:
All the tutorials are easy to understand & what I really like about them is how you can rate them. You may want to show an example for horizontal navigation.

    Overall :
You have a few things that could be improved here & there. Your site is already of a high standard & your tutorials are excellent! I would like to see you add more tutorials & possibly some articles to this site. If you do decide to add more content to your site, a search bar would be a good idea.
Be sure to keep up the great work & if you need help feel free to contact me!

    thistudio's Response:

thanks for your review and suggestions. I know about the CSS errors and what not, and to be honest, I don't really care if its 'valid' or not lol, I'm not looking to be a professional. Most of my image links are done correctly, but oh well.
On previous layouts the site info and what not have been on the bottom, but i decided to change it up :)
side nav, i actually like it the way it is lol, im not looking for something BOOM in the eye, but thanks for the suggestion.

thanks :) I have more tutorials to add, I'm just a bit lazy to re write them.. I'll get around to it at some point lol. Once again, thanks for the review
