Hello. I'll be reviewing your site in Firefox 1280x1024, Windows XP Professional. I'm going to choose V7, the "Website" part of your domain. I'm only going to be reviewing the content of your site.

    - First impression -
I love the splash image. It catches the eye of the visitor right away but I suggest having a centered splash image because most eyes go straight to the middle of their browsers. Another thing that bothers me a bit is the fact that there are different "version" when actually, they're just different parts of the site. Maybe you should change the way that they are labeled instead of having the visitor hover over the version image to reveal that part of the site it links to.

    - VII: Layout -
Your header image is a good size, not too large and not too small. The colors are fine, but the green "plant" sticks out too much.

When I scroll down, I see this large piece of blank content space. Perhaps you should go back and carefully look over your CSS/HTML to fix this problem.

    - VII: Graphics -
    Nice preview image.

'Please Remember to Use with Care.' should be 'Please remember to use these with care OR Please read the terms of usage before you proceed.'

    - VII: Graphics > Buttons or Templates -
Some of these buttons are very pretty. Nice job on the animated ones however, why would you offer animated buttons or templates? Some people who may want to use these buttons or templates will not know how to edit animated images so it's best to provide buttons or templates that can be edited by anyone.

I clicked on some of these buttons/templates in the 88x31 section and found that some of them aren't 88x31. In fact, they are 81x31. The most commonly seen button/template size is 88x31 so I suggest you either go back and change it or remove them completely because the sizes do not fit in the category that they were placed in. Two examples of your buttons:

    http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q260/res8zenith/banners%20extras/noudbse.jpg
    http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q260/res8zenith/banners%20extras/nightmare3.gif

Another thing that points out to me is that you just resize the image using HTML/CSS to make it smaller for a preview image. Instead of resizing it with HTML/CSS, you should make a thumbnail (preview image) of it instead because resizing it with HTML/CSS squishes the image.

Last thing that I'll point out in this section: There are buttons with "AS" on them. I'm assuming that AS stands for Autumn*Sunsets. I suggest removing "AS" and any form of text from them because no one wants to use a buttom/template with text already on them, especially if it stands for your site. The visitor doesn't have the same site name as you.

    - VII: Graphics > Large Textures -
First of all, this should go under 'Resources' since textures are resources that people use.

Again, I see the same problem with the resizing with HTML/CSS and not with thumbnails. I have high speed internet so it loads just perfectly fine for me but what about the other visitors who don't have it? This page will take a long time to load and also make the browser that the visitor is using, glitchy, when they scroll up and down the page.

    - VII: Graphics > Signs or Splashes -
I'm getting a bit tired of repeating myself for the third time and probably more, but I'll do it anyways. I see the same problem as the other pages with the 'No thumbnail'. Seriously, animated graphics already slow down the internet speed but without small thumbnails of smaller sizes, you're just slowing it down even more.

Again, I see text that says 'Autumn*Sunsets' and 'Anime Share' on them. You should remove them because there is a very low chance of someone having the same site name as you.

    - VII: Graphics > Stamp Collection -
Yes! A page with no animated graphics and resized images instead of thumbnails. Very nice stamps. I'm assuming that they're for DeviantArt.

    - VII: Graphics > Image Sets -
First of all, what is an image set? I clicked on the 'Image Sets' and I still don't get what they're for. Honestly, I think these graphics are useless because of mutiple reasons. One of them is not knowing what it is used for because to me, they just look like a row of icons stuffed together with shadows and a gray background.

    - VII: Graphics > Icons -
Nice icons, though I recommend you removing some of them because, how should I say this, don't fit with your current style or standard?

Take this icon for example: http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q260/res8zenith/awards%20avatars/paracise.jpg

This icon is just a cropped picture and some text from what I can tell. It seems like absolutely no time was taken to place this icon together.

    - VII: Designs -
Greeted with some text and a large blank content area. I recommended adding some most recenty added designs to this page to add more color to it.

Again with these large images. I'm starting to wonder if you're really lazy to make thumbnails because to me, it looks like you really are.

When I was clicking on some layouts, I noticed that your designs are not aligned correctly in Firefox. The addresses provided below show screenshots of what three of your layouts look like in Firefox.

    http://i42.tinypic.com/9pqu0g.jpg
    http://i44.tinypic.com/2nb9k6w.jpg
    http://i39.tinypic.com/11ju6wh.jpg

When looking through the live preview of the designs, I found the auto playing music annoying. I'm already listening to my iTunes on my computer and the auto playing music just disrupts it. I don't think that you would like it if I had auto playing Metal/Rock on my site when you visited it and it blasted in your ears.

    - VII: Scripts > Website Codes (Simple & Complex) -
You should break this area into parts and move it into the 'Scripts & Tutorials' section. Take the time to explain parts bit by bit.

    - VII: Scripts > Scripts & Tutorials -
First thing first: I see a bunch of black background boxes with white bold texts in them. This doesn't really look like a tutorial & script section because tutorials break things down, piece by piece. All I see is you just giving a description about what it does and not even explaining what each piece of the coding is. (The black background colored boxes would look better if you put at least a 3px padding in them.)

As I'm browsing through the 'Tutorials & Scripts', I find you calling people 'noobs' and using the letter 'u' instead of the word 'you' along with not capitalizing the beginning of your sentences.
    1. Why are you calling people 'noobs'? I've seen people call beginners 'noobs' and it's just plain rude. So what if they don't know how to do things? That's why they are ASKING you. You could be nice and just write a tutorial that explains what part of the coding does what but instead, you're just degrading them and calling them 'noobs'. Well, you were a 'noob' too. Actually, we were all 'noobs' once.
    2. I'm seeing you use the letter 'u' instead of the whole word 'you'. I'm just curious, are you that lazy to type two more letters or are you just unable to? I looked in your information page that was about you and you are nineteen. Believe it or not, I find it hard to believe that you are nineteen because of the way you type and word things. To me, it seems like you are typing like a ten or twelve year old that prances around using chat talk that makes you seem illiterate.
    3. Is it that hard to move your pinky finger to the Shift button?

'12) Target blank' should be '12) How to make your link open a new window'
'15) Redirected B***h!' should be '15) Refresh Redirecting'
'18) Margins & Padding???' should be '18) Margins and Padding'

There are many others but since I have to go to sleep soon, I'll just leave it at that.

    - Ending -
I apologize if it seems like I just bashed at your site the whole review but most of it's completely true, in my point of view. It's a bit rushed because I have to go to sleep soon so sorry about that.

If I offended you, it's to be expected because not all reviews will be sugar coated.

Hi Reesha! I'll be reviewing your site in Google Chrome, at 1680x1050 resolution. In this review I'll be looking at your coding, content, layout of your site, and also your grammar/punctuation. (And because this site always messes up VB code for me, I won't be using any.) Yes I'm cruel in reviews, but if you only ever receive lovey-dovey comments, you'll never improve.

    -- Initial Thoughts:
On loading your website, we are greeted with a splash screen, linking off to three other sites. I am glad you've changed the hover-over image for these (as before there was no indication of what each site was for). I suppose this does make the entire site easier to navigate, but why not just add the names anyway? Why does it have to be V5, V6, V7? I suppose I should review each page individually.

    V5 -- //
    -- Initial Thoughts
Well, the loading time's not bad, but what's this? No content? In Chrome there seems to be a compatibility issue in which the content itself is not aligned with the navigation.

    Image: http://i44.tinypic.com/29qjf6b.jpg

I believe I've already made this problem aware to you several months ago (via a comment on your site). I'm surprised it hasn't been resolved yet, as browser compatibility is vital for any website. You can also see from this screenshot that your welcome message is not centred into the box properly; though I'm assuming this is a browser compatibility issue again.

Links are very well laid out, but I feel the top banner is just too large. Ideally, a website's main banner image should only span a third of the page. Even on my large resolution it's at least half way down my screen. Users are lazy, and do not want to scroll down to view content - they want to see it immediately!

    -- Design
As I've already mentioned, the top image is much too large, and needs to be at least half as high, to allow content to actually show on the main screen. Don't argue that because this is a personal site, rules of web designers can be disregarded - they cannot. You're following their rules otherwise, so why disregard only this one?

The image itself however is beautiful. I've always been jealous of the work you put into designing it. The juxtaposition of the colours are divine, and I love how the text is blended in. I also really love your content area boxes!

One major problem - no home button. A home button should always be added to a site, regardless of whether you think people are going to use it or not.

The cursor. Right. Whilst it's sweet and small, and nice to see a unique cursor on a website, it can make navigation difficult. If I hover over a text link, with the top of the little cursor in the middle of the text it's not highlighted as a link, yet if I hover at the bottom of the link, it is. Take a look for yourself. It's vital that you make navigating as easy as possible for your users, so take a look into why this is happening. Perhaps the .cur file has some empty pixels toward the upper left of the canvas.

    -- Content
Overall each of the pages are very well laid-out (aside from the browser compatibility problem), and you haven't distorted any of the images.

The photos on these pages are rather nice, but I'm guessing you're not using a professional camera for these, in which case you have to ask, should you have a gallery? I suppose that depends on the purpose of the gallery. Is it for your own benefit? Or for others to use as stock images? I don't believe you've actually yet defined what the photographs on this site are for.

I've noticed that the images are hosted on Photobucket; why are you not hosting them in your own space? And also, some of the photos aren't actually the right way up!

It'd be nice if there was a little more information I think. For example, what camera do you use, why are the photographs here, why you like photography, your experience with it, etc.

In regards to the welcome message on the home page, is it necessary to tell the viewer what each other site is for? Or the updates for those sites? You're mentioning Flux @ Dawn, but as a viewer of only V5, I'm not interested in what's happening at V6 or V7. Perhaps use that space to better convey what V5 is for.

On your abstract page, a lot of the photographs aren't abstract, but are macro. The photographs which display the nail polish are in fact macro, whereas ones which display the folds in the curtain, are abstract. Learn the difference and seperate these photos.

    -- Code
Wow. Okay. So you don't lay your code out in nice lines. Why I wonder... It helps you search through your code and make changes in future. Don't argue that you're trying to hide your code from possible thieves, if someone was going to steal code, they'd know enough to see how to separate it; and if not, they'd simply steal the whole thing anyway!

    For example:

    src=""http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q260/res8zenith/autumnsunsets/bdum13.png" onmouseover="this.src='http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q260/res8zenith/autumnsunsets/music1.png'"
    onmouseout="this.src='http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q260/res8zenith/autumnsunsets/bdum13.png'"

Looks a lot neater than if you had it all in one line. This "all on one line" problem is also apparent in your CSS; and you really don't need to open the style tags when it's an external CSS.

From glancing through your code quickly, I've noticed you have two body tags - why? Just copy and paste the code to the other body tag. Having two of the same can confuse some browsers and cause your site to look distorted. Again, you have two of each navigation style, and have even duplicated the code.

Now, why have you named your pages with numbers? (By name, I mean the name of the file [for example, 5.php]) The name of a page is very, very important for a site. It allows users to simply navigate there quickly, especially if they know the code. Whilst having a number is easier to quick typing, it doesn't relate to the actual content itself. For example, where you have "4.php", I would've used "abstract.php". Plus it looks nicer if you use names.

In a lot of your code, I'm seeing a distinct lack of speech marks. Remember to wrap these around your coded values, to improve cross-browser support, and also your sites validity. For example:

    target=_blank should be target="_blank"
    height=110 should be height="110"
    etc.

Running your site through the W3C validator shows just how many problems you have:

    http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http://autumnsunsets.com/v5/&charset=(detect+automatically)&doctype=Inline&group=0&accept=application/xml,application/xhtml%2Bxml,text/html;q%3D0.9,text/plain;q%3D0.8,image/png,*/*;q%3D0.5&accept-language=en-GB,en-US;q%3D0.8,en;q%3D0.6&accept-charset=ISO-8859-1,utf-8;q%3D0.7,*;q%3D0.3&user-agent=W3C_Validator/1.767

    -- Conclusion
Whilst your site has a lot of good points, there are some basic errors which have gone unnoticed and unfixed. Take a look at them and be sure to search everything thoroughly. Also, try neatening up your code! It makes it a lot easier to modify later on.

    V6 -- //
One thing which I've just noticed as well - no return to the splash screen. Granted you have links from V5 to the other versions, perhaps someone would want to return to the splash screen and follow the links that way. Your navigation on V5 simply says: "AS Graphics - CR" why have you laid it out like this? Perhaps if you'd written "Cryptic Reflection - V6" it'd be easier to navigate.

    -- Initial Thoughts
The layout header is lovely again, but it's once more too large. Read through what I've said about V5 and take it into consideration here as well.

The "Site" and "Tag" text seems overly stretched and distorted, as does "Autumn Sunsets". Speaking of which, why have you added two copyrights? There's one in the middle and one at the bottom of the image? Surely one is enough.

The image behind the header tags is absolutely gorgeous. Really. You should be proud of them.

    -- Design
This section will be short. As I've said in my initial thoughts and my V5 review, the header image is too large.

Nice to see you have a home button here, but why does it say "site"? For someone perhaps not as literate on the Internet (there are still people like that around) then "site" could be confusing for them. "Home" always seemed like the better word to use to direct users to your index page. "Tag" is also a strange word to use, as it's a shoutbox. Surely "shout" would be better? I don't know. It just seems you're limiting yourself by only using very short words.

In regards to your shoutbox, why does it open full screen? It'd be a lot nicer if it opened up to a forced resized window. It'd be more aesthetically pleasing and easier to read.

    -- Content
This is a blog, a journal, where your writing is the main content... so why are you making fundamental errors? An "I" should always be capitalised! To take your intro comment:

"Alright, *This* section of AS here has been around for some time, known as the .Net AS sect, but now *i've* changed it because the .Net AS sect was taking up too much of my time. *so i* present to you The AS Journal... aka: ASJ. *now v5* has been the ASG for some time, and *i* thought *i'd* make *v6* the ASJ! *neat huh...ok* maybe not but still kind of neat. I feel like this is a new design or something but *its* really old! *i* just haven't been around on it much so *i* don't know why, took me 2 weeks to create it. *anyway*, click on the years to read past AS entries. *they're* not important or anything, *i* was just bored."

I've added asterisks around each of the basic problem areas. They're probably mistakes which you'll smack yourself for realising, but for a journal, it's important that at least the welcome message has the correct spelling and grammar. The welcome message should read like this:

"Alright, this section of AS here has been around for some time, known as the .Net AS sect, but now I've changed it because the .Net AS sect was taking up too much of my time. So I present to you The AS Journal... aka: ASJ. Now, V5 has been the ASG for some time, and I thought I'd make V6 the ASJ! Neat huh...? Ok maybe not but still kind of neat. I feel like this is a new design or something but it's really old! I just haven't been around on it much so I don't know why, took me 2 weeks to create it. Anyway, click on the years to read past AS entries. They're not important or anything, I was just bored."

I'd also read through it a little. How you type, is not necessarily how you'd talk to a friend. Since you've written this in your normal speaking voice, it's very difficult to read as a lot of the syntax is off. Whilst this syntax error is not such a big deal in your journal entries, I think a little rewrite would make a huge difference to your welcome message.

Also, you seem to make the same fundamental errors throughout your journal entries. I'm not going to make a big deal out of these, because it's your journal. I just thought I'd make you aware of them. It's good practice to always capitalise the I, and begin with a capital letter after a full stop.

    -- Code
Again your code is all in one line and very difficult to read. Also, are you aware that:

    link rel="stylesheet" href="http://autumnsunsets.com/gall.css" type="text/css" media="screen"

Actually points to a non-existent CSS link?

For the sake of not repeating myself, take a look at what I've said regarding your V5 CSS code. The exact same issues are found here. In fact, read up everything I've said for the V5 code, as a lot of what I've said also relates to V6.

Your forward and back buttons don't work!

    -- Conclusion
I'm seeing a lot of the same coding errors throughout your site, and I expect I'll see them again when I view V7.

    V7 -- //
    -- Initial Thoughts
The looks as if it should be aligned in the centre of the page, yet it isn't.

    Image: http://i42.tinypic.com/vielgp.jpg

Why do you say affil's? Most people just stick to affi's for their affiliates.

It's nice to see the banner at the top small enough to see content without scrolling, but the tiled background is somewhat off putting. Granted you've inverted what people would expect the tiled background to be, but I just think it makes the site look weird. Black at the top > blue divider > white background would've been a better option in my opinion.

WHOA why the huge page? I scroll down and down and down through a lot of blank space. Why?

    -- Design
As I've already said, there are a few things which look odd about the design, but I do love how it's a lot smaller. It's a pretty basic header overall, but that's not a bad thing.

The navigation buttons are nicely laid out, and I love how the text blurs slightly when you over over it! The vertical navigation on the left is also nice, but the affiliates links are rather difficult to read. Even if you just darkened the text a little, it could make a huge difference. Hmm, other affiliates? I'm assuming these are actually Link Exchanges? Since most sites demand affiliates add their link to every page (as is expected). There is a difference between affiliates and link exchanges, and from what I can tell, this page is for link exchanges, not other affiliates.

It's nice to see the shout box on the main page!

    -- Content
In regards to your update message, read what I've written for V6.

Clear for home? I always wondered why people use this. What's wrong with a good ol' "HOME" button? Now, to go through each of your pages. Are you aware also, that CLEAR leads to 1.php, and hovering over Autumn Sunsets links to index.php? Surely they should be the same link?

    -- -- -- Domain
Well, what can I say? There's no info at all. Why have a link if you're not going to bother adding any information?

OH! Only after clicking on your Scripts page did I realise those headings were links. You don't make this very clear. Not only do they just look like headings with no information beneath, but nothing changes when I hover over it.

Information about you and the site is nice, but the scroller is not.

    -- -- -- Graphics
The layout here is a little... naff. The thumbnails are squashed into distortion, which can seriously detract users from even clicking on them. Be sure the thumbnails to each category are as fancy and inviting as possible.

    -- -- -- // Buttons or Templates
Not a bad little page. A lot of great resources and all at a rather high quality. When I click on a button though, it opens in the same window... but why have you added a link to an image which is the same size as your thumbnail? Seems unnecessary - and if you are going to do that, at least let them open in a new window.

Again some of the larger images are being squashed and distorted, which makes a lore of viewers think that the image itself looks that distorted.

    -- -- -- // Large Textures
Another nice page, but experiencing the same problems as Buttons or Resources. Textures are alright, nothing overly special, but not the worst I've seen.

    -- -- -- // Signs or Splashes
Same problems again, and I feel some of these just aren't befitting a design site such as yours. Also, if these are resources, should you display your Autumn Sunset splashes?

    -- -- -- // Stamp Collection
Rather nice stamps. Basic, but nice. Again though, same problems as before.

    -- -- -- // Image Sets
Now, what is the purpose of these? When I click the link, expecting to get a .zip file which contains a collection of large images, I instead get... the same image. Seriously, what are these for?

    -- -- -- // 100x100 Avatars
Basic avatars. Nothing really exciting here. Some are gorgeous, but only a handful. It would be nice if they were categorised a little. Especially if you intend to add a lot more.

    -- -- -- Designs
"Click Uncoded to view layouts without codes.
Click the other Pages to view Coded designs."

Whilst it's nice to display uncoded layouts, there is no uncoded link. Again, the cursor problem makes it very difficult to navigate this page. If you just right-click, then you can see how there's a lot of blank space at the top of the .cur canvas.

There are a few broken image links, but overall the layouts are nice. There's a lot of diversity though. Some of them are really fabulous, but some of them are lacking.

    Again, thumbnail distortion.

    -- -- Scripts
    Avaters = Avatars
    Curser = Cursor

The scripts on this page are nice for beginners, but it's difficult to copy and paste / read them as the text boxes they're in are so small. I'd really consider making them larger.

The PHP IP script isn't showing as it's simply reading your code. To find out how to display code on your website, follow this tutorial: http://www.divine-designs.net/ccount12/click.php?id=191

Some of the scripts also have horizontal scrollers. Making it even more impossible to read.

    -- -- Exits
I've already pretty much commented on this.

    -- Code
I expect that before I even right click to view your code, I'm going to be seeing a lot of the same problems. Ah, what'd you know, I'm right!

    -- Conclusion
Overall, a reasonable graphics website. I think the resources in here need a bit of trimming, as there is huge diversity in what you're offering. Whereas some designs are fabulous, some look really terrible. And take into consideration what I've said about your other sites.

    == Overall Conclusion ==
I am sorry if the review appears a little rushed toward the end - it was. I have to go to work soon and I wanted to complete this before I left! Haha. Saying that, if you have any questions regarding what I've said, just add a reply and I'll get back to you ASAP.

Don't be offended by anything I've written. I told you at the start that my review would be tough.

Any feedback you want to give, go for it!

    Hello!
I'm Shini and I will be reviewing your site. Forgive me if this isn't the usual sort of format, because I'm new to this...
    Anywho, I will be using;
    A 1366x768 Resolution
    Windows Vista
Mozilla Firefox 3.0.19 and Internet Explorer

    I won't go into reviewing html and css etc. because, quite frankly, I'm in no position to criticise anyone's coding. ^^;

    ---
-I will be reviewing V.7 of Autumn Sunsets-

First things first would have to be layout loading times. Most of the layout, in both browsers, loaded almost instantly. The rest of the header took about a minute to follow in Firefox though, and in Internet Explorer it didn't load at all.
I do like the simplicity of the layout. Though the black background may be a little dark for some, I think it draws the eye to the header and the main content instead of being distracting as some backgrounds can be.
The colours upon the layout all seem to work well together as well. The only thing that really stood out would be the orange swirl on the headers, and the orange/yellow on the navigation for the left. It seems a little out of place alongside the blue-purple-green themes that seem to be going on elsewhere.

That aside, however, in both browsers -Firefox especially- the layout displays well. The text is crisp and is easy to read, and doesn't disappear against the background in any way.

    Now, onto navigation...
I've never been a fan of horizontal nav' bars... purely because, if they're not drop-down, it means navigating through several pages to get to what you're looking for.

Graphics: For the 'graphics' link, the fact that things are clearly displayed afterwards is helpful. The idea of the preview images is a nice one. My only criticism would be the quality of the images used. Many seem warped/squashed and it really doesn't sell the graphics.

Designs: The text reading "Click Uncoded to view layouts without codes. Click the other Pages to view Coded designs." is a little confusing... mainly because I can't seem to spot the 'uncoded' link.
The coded designs themselves are quite pretty for the most part, though you might want to check their compatibility with other browsers. The 'Authentic Reminisce' layout is beautifully made, but unfortunately it will only display in IE which, for Firefox users, is a shame.

Scripts: I won't be reviewing at any of them, understandably, but the page seems easy to navigate. It's lay out nicely and all links seem to work. The little library of basic codes is, I think, a helpful thing for beginners who need a bit of guidance.

I couldn't help but notice the bubbles jumping out, minds. Again, like the orange swirls, they seem a little out of place... though perhaps less so seeing as they follow the same colour theme. It brings me to point out the shells on the hover-over on the navigation. They're cute, but they still seem a little random, especially alongside the leaves and flowers of the header. =

Exits: Again, as with all pages, it's neatly arranged and laid out in a way that's easy to navigate.

Domain: Same again. Previews for Gifts/Awards, however seem a little squashed/warped. It's the same issue as the previews for all of the graphics, really. They'd look much nicer if they were kept in proportion and it'd make things a lot more appealing. It's nice to see alternative email addresses in the contact page, minds, so kudos for that.
As for rules and regulations; they are fairly neatly laid out, and not too much on the lengthy side. The only problem I have with that page is the site history thrown onto the bottom... perhaps it'd be more suitable on a page of it's own? Also, the content also seems to be scrolling horizontally in Firefox which cuts some of it off and makes the display look messy.

Over all, the site seems as if it's put together well. It's easy to navigate and the layout is easy on the eye. Though most of the graphics aren't fantastic, there are a few -such as the 'Authentic Reminisce' layout- which really stand out as fantastic and well thought out.
What drags the site down, I think, are the quality of the graphics previews, and the way parts of the layout seem out of place. With a little more time and care put into it, it'd look much nicer. =)
