    First Impressions:
While nicely set out, your header is a bit of an eyesore. There's just a bit too much contrast between those stripes. All in all, the design is nicely laid out, so it's easy to find what you're looking for. I like that you don't have too many elements (ads, buttons in the sidebar, etc.) on the page. I like that you have links to social networking pages (Facebook, etc.). They're becoming quite popular these days, it's great to see people making use of them.

    Code:
It looks like you're using Wordpress! Nice! I can't tell for sure, but it looks like you made the theme all by yourself. You seem to know your HTML and CSS pretty well. And speaking from a front-end dev myself, kudos for appropriate indentation of your lines of code.

    Design:
Overall colour scheme is great. Nice and readable. And you make the site easy to navigate.

Your default body text is to small in comparison to its containers and headings.

Your second-level headings stand out a bit too much. Their style look like they should be links or form input boxes.

    Pages:
About - Is this section important? Should its link go in the top navigation?

Content - This word "content" is a bit too generic. In websites, "content" usually refers to everything: The blog, about me pages, articles, links, graphics, etc. I'd recommend that you put Content, Resources and Tutorials under a "For You" section of the site.

Listing - Nice! I like the idea behind this page.

Resources - I'm not going to bark on about the legal issues here. I'm sure you're smart enough to know about copyright and all that jazz. Just beware that while people aren't going to jail every day for copyright infringement, original creators do notice it - And do not appreciate it. And, while it's not our responsibility to police the internet, web design professionals frown upon such things.

Tutorials - These are ok, I think. I'd like to recommend that you follow blogs such as Smashing Magazine or A List Apart to keep up to date with trends and standards in web design so a) that you're not teaching people old methods and b) you always have fresh, new techniques to show off.

    Recommendations:
Consider making your body text larger, fewer links in your main navigation.

Overall a nicely designed, easy to read site, with lots of delicious, useful content. Keep up the great work. :)

    Layout

The layout of the site perfectly refects the domain name http://sophisticandy.org/ because it is both sophisticated and candy-lie. How? Well, it has sophisphicated design where the header contains the banner where there huge letters of "sophisticandy" indicates both style and authorithy. Behind the big sign is a wall paper full of colors like pink, blue green and purple which are rare candy colors. The layout is so organized that it is easy to locate what you are looking for. The font size is just right. I like that the titles are big so you know where you are going. It's also nice that the images are clear and large so it can entice the readers. The color blending is in perfect harmony. The background has a sophiticated texture like colored wall papers which are so amazing! Badges are neatly organied and placed at the bottom. It also provides site details like the stats. Navigation is done perfectly. Its great there are similar posts displayed in every posts so the readers know what can interest them next. The video play and volume buttons are of nice colors that readers can't help but to check them. There are also social buttons that can improve site activity and therefore increase blog traffic. The site also allows readers to plug there blog in their plugboard which is very very very cool! The favicon of the blog is also perfect for the entire theme. It brings out the color and sophistication of the blog just by its favicon.

    Post

The posts are of excellent grammer. They also use colors, bond, bullets, capitalization, and emoticons to emplasis their point. There are also cool headings on each post that indicates each part. The tutorials are very in depth yet step by step so it is easy to follow.

Viewing in Chrome on Windows 7.

Excellent design! Very clean, easy to navigate. The noise texture adds visual interest. There's a sense of depth without being cheesy. The white behind the website name in the header could be a little less transparent to help the name stand out a little more - but it's still pretty easy to read. Just doesn't jump out as much as it could. Having the logo/name in the header link back to the home page is a good idea. The bright colors are very fun. (Love the favicon!) HTML5 and CSS3 yay! I'm still unsure if I like the background of the h2 titles being the same as the website's background. It looks a bit like they're cut out from the white part, you know? It's not bad, just a little odd. (If we want to get picky.)

Some of the images in the Stats box of the footer wouldn't load, and since the height and width aren't defined, they created long boxes for a broken image that kind of threw things out of whack. Easy fix by defining the height/width. I'm guessing the sites they're direct-linked from aren't entirely reliable for loading the images.

Do you have Jetpack for Wordpress? That's a nice plugin for stats and whatnot. Take a look at it if you haven't heard of/used it.

Renaming "Content" in the nav to "Graphics" might be an idea.. unless you were planning to have non-graphical stuff there. The vague "content" doesn't let me know what's there and I may have skipped it completely if I was there in the search of graphic things.

For direct-linking of your graphics, might I suggest something like imgur.com. Photobucket sometimes has issues with not working. Imgur has been a lot more reliable, in my experience. I, personally, find photobucket URLs to be a bit amateur too, but that could just be me. ;)

I LOVE THE BACKGROUNDS WITH THE SMILEYS! I am totally going to keep those in mind for my future projects. The heart and star ones are great too, I like the gritty texture to them. Great juxtaposition of cute and grungey.

The emoticons are kind of hard to see on the backgrounds you have them on. Love the little USB pixels! I dig your favicons too, they remind me of Rubik's cubes. :D

The Contests are outdated... I'd recommend some kind of "temporarily on hiatus" for that section if it's not something you're keeping up with, but might again in the future. There are some broken images too. Past Layouts: broken images.

For the Home/blog, when I click into the comments, the comments are after a huge gap. It looks like something went wrong. (http://sophisticandy.org/2011-12/media-monday-2-sounds/)

When browsing the site, I kept kind of thinking "who posted this?" Having your name somehow attached to the blog posts or various parts of the content might be good. I didn't find your name until digging into the About/Disclosure page. Take claim of your stuff! :D

Overall, the site is great. Excellent design, lots of content that's of good quality.
