    Hi Terri! *waves*
    This one's short and sweet!

I like the current layout. The big pink text can be a tiny bit hard to read for some words, but overall I like it. A little bit more padding on the right side where the widgets are might be nice. I love that you're "Ad-Free". The width of your main blog column is just about perfect - it reads easily like a newspaper column at that width. The thing that bothers me most is the "Next" and "Previous" navigation text at the bottom of the blog pages. I think it gets confusing when you start going backwards into the archives. "Next" goes to older entries and "Previous" goes to newer entries.

Beyond that, have you considered trying to occasionally make shorter blog posts? Many people (myself included) have short attention spans for online content. I wonder if you might see increased readership or more frequent comments if every third or fourth blog post was a little shorter, say 250-350 words instead of 500 or so. It's just a thought. If your blog is more for you, for your creative release, then don't worry about the post length. :)

While I love the colors of your site, I feel like more could have been done to it. So far the overall structure is perfectly fine, the design itself is what is lacking. Like Aisling said below, there is a fine line between simple and boring...sadly I have to agree with her about your design leaning more to the boring side.

Your header/title image is too far from the main content, the gap in between is very unnecessary.

Your side bar is a little unorganized. I feel like it would be better to have the "she" section above or below the navigation and then the "support" section afterward, preferably after the flickr section too.

I'm not to fond of the navigation links going outside of your site without telling me. I thought these were pages for your site, but I guess not. A little misleading, no? I would put them all together on one page titled Network instead. =)

Your about me page is very well written and really hearty! I love long bios...(don't ask why. =P)

Lastly, your "domain" page is organized and to the point. Nice.

Overall, I feel that your site is like every other average personal blog. Which is not a bad thing, it's a personal blog for a reason...to be about you! So, well done. Good luck with minor fixes here and there!

It's cool that you took the time to edit your site and take into consideration everyone's suggestions! I'll be happy to begin my re-review of your site now. =)

I love the header on this layout! The font is very fun and grungy, and the swirl behind it helps the title to stand out more and not be so "blah". While I do love the font used in your header, I'm not too fond of it on EVERY header in your content. Also, I noticed it's an image. That's a huge no-no when it comes to accessibility. Text-readers read the heading and then body text of your page. Making them images disables these gadgets from doing their job. Also having headers is an important aspect in SEO, helps with robots crawling your site and finding keywords. Personally, I think it would look much better with a normal font like Verdana or Tahoma!

Your navigation moved! Nice choice to have it at the top. While I like the new location, I feel it is too small against the size of the header and then the body. It's like its getting lost between these two elements. Try making the font-size a tab bigger. Also, you sure like to push a visitor away quickly on the homepage, huh? ;) I would take out the link for Flickr and joined. You already have one of them in your "Network" page and quite frankly, I want to see YOUR site, not Flickr's. For that I'd type flickr.com in my address bar!

Your sidebar looks more organized then before! Well done. My only problem is the Twitter tool seems to be a little wacky and you have a 9 being pushed out of your pages body...odd? I'd fix that ASAP!

In your "about me" page, it would be nice to have the "more" section at the top, almost like a "sub" sections of links. Not everyone will read all that you have and maybe they'll be interested in what you have in the more section, but will never be able to read it as it's all the way at the bottom...haha...it could happen!

The rest of your pages are very informative and to the point, which you already know I like. Just for those few tweaks, I think your website is well on it's way to becoming something great! Good luck! =)

I wish the links weren't underlined. I'm sorry, but that was my first thought. Also, that there's too much space between the header image and the content :(

Your sidebar is full of interesting things O_O No clean feed? Jesus, I hope you guys win that battle. I do think that there should be more padding between those three linked images.

    Ooh, a Pagan.

    All right, onto the content!

OMG, I love your about page. You seem really interesting, which was your goal (as should it be anyone's goal), so you obviously did a good job writing it. With every image that I scroll by, I find myself going aww. AWW. AWWW!! Everything (you included) is just so cute ^^ The images could use padding, however :P

The site page is a good length, and gives plenty of information.

Joined is off-site, so I won't review it. Same with listings. Ah, and designs too.

In the end, I agree with Aisling. You should have a big, beautiful, amazing, BAM website layout, you know? It would match your personality <3 I did enjoy your site, however. Good job!

Hmm... your layout is a little bland. There's a fine fine line between simplicity and boring. And yours is just a little bit over on the boring side. I think the space between your header and content may be a bit too wide. I don't have any scientific formula to back this up, but it just looks off to me. Your navigation stands out and is easy to use. Your sidebar is a bit cluttered, specifically the Support section. I'm not a big fan of Meta sections with log-in buttons and such on any website, but that may just be personal preference.

Other than that... I mean, there's not much more to comment on, because nothing else is going on! Onward to content, I guess....

Your "Terri," page is highly interesting and well written. I like how it goes in-depth to all the different aspects of your life. Very nicely done.

Your "Inspirata," page follows in this vein, and also the format of which I've begun to refer to as "standard site page." It is highly difficult to find a site page I find interesting, they're all the same!

Your Joined goes off-site, so I won't be reviewing it, but I did think the layout was cute.

Listings and Designs are the same deal. :D

I don't understand though, on Designs, apart from the title being COMPLETELY cut off on my screen, this layout is very nice! And interesting! Are are the Joined and Listings designs! I would love to see something more interesting on this site as well. You clearly have the talent!

So, yes, to summarize, it's clear that you have lots of potential, but this layout just isn't doing it for me. Like I said, it's not so much simple as it is boring, and you don't seem like a boring person, so I am endlessly confuzzled. Lol. Good luck!

    First impression:

My eyes were drawn straight to the text used in the header and titles, probably because of the brightness. I find it a little bit too bright though. Maybe a shade lighter would give a more balanced look to the site.

    Layout:

I like how the frame with your writing is centralized. It makes for easy reading. Not much problem here, except that I do find the layout a bit bland. Maybe it is because you prefer to have a very structured and organized site, but I feel that it lacks a certain "x-factor" that will attract visitors. Just my opinion though, others might think otherwise :)

    Links and Navigation:

The links are organized and easily found, though again the bright pink tab I get when my mouse hovers over the link kinda hurt my eyes >.< I also think there needs to be a greater separator between the different categories, maybe more space in between the last item for navigation category and the next one? I had thought that Support was a link and it belongs under the navigation category as well.

It would also be great if you provide a link for visitors to skip to the bottom of your page and then another link for them to go to the top. That will be very convenient :)

    Content:

The About Me page is well-written, though the text "the way I am" is kinda partially obstructed by your picture. Same goes for the text "You're my everything". It is interesting to know that you met your fiance in almost the same way I met my hubby :)

I think the links to all the other boards or sites you belong to should go into another page, maybe a link page showing all the sites that you like to visit? They just look out of place in the About Me section.

I love what you have done for your "commercial" site for your design portfolio :) Though I do have something to say about it, I guess I won't say it here cos this review is about your personal site rather than your design portfolio one.

All in all, there are still rooms for improvement. I think you are nearly there :)

    Terri's Response:

Thanks for my first review, and for your honesty :)
I appreciate what you said about the colour - I wasn't sure if it was right or not, since I don't have every monitor available to test it on, so that helps.
I was attempting to go for a very simple layout - I don't like the overcrowded layouts that a lot of people have, since I tend to not know where to look, but I appreciate the opinion and will try to make it a little more decorative (probably not the right word but I can't think right now!) next time.
I'll definitely try to separate out the widgets on the sidebar - thanks :)
I'm not sure what you mean by a link for visitors to skip to the bottom of the page, etc. I know that you mean an anchor link, but what for? The content/entries/etc?
In Firefox, at a 1440x900 resolution, I can read the text under "The Way I Am" and also at an 800x600 resolution it looks fine, so I'm not sure what I can do without seeing what you're seeing.
I can definitely add the forums etc. to another page, thanks for the suggestion :)
I will probably put my designs site up for review (probably to the result of never getting another webdesign job again lol!), but otherwise feel free to mention what you think here - helps me in the long run.
Thanks again for your review :)
